Richard Wurmbrand False Prophet

Much has been made of Richard Wurmbrand being prisoner in Rumanian Communist Prisons, his book, “Tortured for Christ” and the suffering he endured as a “Christian pastor” believer in Christ. These things as well as his intellectualism and the fact that he founded what has become known as the Voice of the Martyrs has propelled him and the organization into a huge widely known, and so far, “well-respected” iconic ministry of mega proportions with vast financial resources and power.
All that seems admiral on the surface but what has apparently slipped under the radar is his ecumenical, and Marxist socialist so-called “Christian” apologetics and doctrine.

More recently during this past year of 2012 is the suicide of the US Director of the Voice of the Martyrs, Tom White, under mysterious circumstances, apparently as a result of the molestation of a minor 10 yr old girl.

All well and good you might say, for the organization has all appearances of doing much good for the persecuted Christians of the world……….but, at what expense to the truth of the gospel, considering that from the get go, Richard Wurmbrand, and Tom White, have consistently blended the evil of ecumenism and a pro-Catholic persuasion into the writings of the Voice of the Martyr newsletters and publications, making NO DISTINCTION between the pure evangelical gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the cult of the Roman Catholic church and it’s mysticism.
I leave this for the readers discernment and ask you to pray about it. Also, I wish it to be known there is indeed another organization which gives relief to persecuted Christians, that of the International Christian Concern. Please understand I am not enforcing this group, and in fact do not know all there is to know about them, but merely offer this as a possibility for the reader to explore as an alternative to VOM.

The Death of a Prophet

Two important persons with respect to the Christian faith passed away in the last two weeks (This was written 2-23-01). They were both prophets. One was John Rushdoony. He was a true prophet of the Lord and made significant contributions to the defense of the Christian faith and the understanding of God’s law, especially in his magnus opus, “The Institutes of Biblical Law”. He was a prolific writer and many of his books were key attacks on the citadels of secular humanism in our society. As a warrior for the Christian faith he will be missed, even if a few of his more extreme theonomic views, such as keeping the dietary laws of Moses, were rejected by most of those who loved and respected him.

The other prophet who has just passed away is Richard Wurmbrand, the premier apostle of the “underground church”. Wurmbrand, best known for his best-selling “Tortured for Christ,” was also a prolific author, and well known for his opposition to the Stalinist terror of the U.S.S.R. and its satellites. What is less well known is his theology. Taken as a theologian Wurmbrand has to be classified as a heretic and a false prophet. Even a cursory study of some of his writings displays a breadth of error, mysticism, idolatry, and confusion that is appalling and at times blasphemous.

The following article about the “underground church” was written back in the early 1970’s and documents, even back then, some of Wurmbrand’s strange and heretical beliefs. As it was written in the Editor’s “wild and wooly youth” (I was in my twenties) please attribute the intemperance of some its statements to the exuberance of youth. The article was scanned in so it may contain a few glitches.

CULTURAL WARFARE II – THE UNDERGROUND CHURCH

FALSE PROPHETS
While few Christians have recognized the realities of false prophets, the scriptures clearly do. The Apostle Peter declares, “There were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you”. Paul, too, makes such deceitful penetration of the church a matter of certainty, warning, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock”. Christ himself, constantly exposing the false teachers of his day, continually warned the disciples, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, bur inwardly they are ravening wolves”, and, “Take heed that no man deceive you . . . For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets . . . insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” That Christians who confess the scriptures as the infallible word of God should continue to ignore at their peril the warnings of the Head of the Church and His Apostles, is incredible. Yet the Church in general continues on as if the very problem or the possibility thereof did not exist. Too often the subject is considered exhausted when one has rebuked a Joseph Smith or a Herbert Armstrong, as if such were actually in danger of deceiving the very elect. Neither should the Christ deniers and blasphemers of the National or World Council of Churches pose a problem to the Lord’s people. Christ reserved his rebukes for the Pharisees, who posed as the most zealous and orthodox teachers of the law. Similarly, Paul warns not of every Hellenistic cult but rather of those that are “false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness.” It is with such that the church has to deal, and it is of such that Paul declares, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you lei him be accursed ” Paul’s churches were prepared to face Satanic impersonations of angels from heaven and of the apostles themselves; today’s churches are not.

DISCERNMENT
While Christians often prefer to hide behind such a pious and sell-righteous misquote as, Judge not, that ye be not judged”, the scriptural warnings obviously require some judging and a great deal of discernment. Rather than evade the issues the Apostle John exhorts us, “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” and to “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” To discern such requires the inspiration of the Spirit of Truth. The body of Christ is composed of many members, each fitted for their particular function by the respective gifts of the Holy Spirit. And when Paul lists these in I Cor. 12 he includes the ‘discerning of spirits’. Then, as now, the church’s armor is incomplete when she fails to exercise this gift of the Spirit.

THE TEST
The Mosaic law had a test for false prophets (Deut. 18:20-22), but what test can the church apply today to ferret out false teachers? False teachers who come in sheep’s clothing, with wonderful testimonies, proclaiming all the fundamentals of the faith, establishing their credentials and winning the hearts of the Lord’s people by being all that could be expected of an angel of shining light. For if they came as scoffers and deniers, they could never accomplish their objective of disarming and destroying the church by the introduction of more subtle heresies. What test, what standard of discernment can be used to identity these emissaries of Satan?

Christ declared that no man can serve two masters, and that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Neither Satan nor his emissaries can deny themselves; they must consistently promote the Kingdom of Anti-Christ. The nature of that kingdom is revealed in Rev. 13. It is an economic dictatorship where the beast controls the right to buy and sell and thus coerces all men to worship him. When the state controls the marketplace it is socialism, and the Kingdom of the Beast will be a Marxist socialist, totalitarian dictatorship. Socialism is internationalism and prepares the way for the one-world rule of Anti-Christ. It is in these areas that the false teacher will strive to establish the kingdom of his lord, and it is there that he will inflexibly affirm that theology of Anti-Christ: Marxism! The resultant Christian Socialism will mightily prepare the way for the coming and acceptance of Anti-Christ. People will have been deluded that the Kingdom of God is to be established here on earth by social reform, and will have accepted the principle that only the state can carry out the sweeping social changes necessary to institute the new world order. Thus, it is in this area that the false teachers and the deceptive apostles will do their subversive work. Such is the American Apostle, Billy Graham, when he identifies himself as a “fundamentalist with an ecumenical heart and a social conscience”. And such are the apostles of the underground church.

THE COMMISSION
NKVD agent, Anatoli Granovsky, was one commissioned as just such a false teacher He was instructed to defect and then by his virulent condemnation of communism to gain the ascendancy in anti-communist organizations. Once there, his specific instructions were,

“Most foreign anti-Soviet publications attack us for the alleged poverty of some of our people, for our prisons, concentration camps and Cheka. This sort of attack is not in the least dangerous to our cause- in every country there are poor people, jails and police. Furthermore, Communist sympathizers are convinced that, being loyal to the doctrine, they themselves would never be sent to jail. . . They are quite prepared to believe that our Cheka, concentration camps and restrictions exist because they have to exist . . . If a man is in any way inclined toward the Communist doctrine, he will not be in the least deterred by being reminded of the harder and severer aspects of Soviet government.

‘When you talk publicly against the Soviet Union,’ I was laid, ‘follow the same harmless line as fanatically as possible. TALK OF PURGES, PRISONS, AND THE CHEKA. BUT DO NOT DRAW POLITICAL CONCLUSIONS OPPOSED TO THE MARXIST-LENINIST PHILOSOPHY. If you do that you are finished, finished for good. ” (I Was An NKVD Agent, pp. 148-149, Emphasis mine.)

THE APPLICATION
The Bible says, “not everyone that saith Lord, Lord” but rather, “by their fruits ye shall know them” Examining the fruits of the apostles of the underground church is a discerning but disappointing exercise. While vocal in their opposition to communism, they are strangely silent concerning Marxism. While decrying the brutality of their alleged torturers, they often affirm their ideology. They all speak of terror, torture and persecution but they never deny the political conclusions of Marxism. From Wurmbrand’s “Tortured For Christ” to Solzhenitsyn’s “Gulag-Archipelago” they all follow the same harmless line as fanatically as possible.

THE POLITICAL CONCLUSIONS OF MARXISM
Richard Wurmbrand is the original and undoubtedly the foremost apostle, if not the patriarch, of the underground church, and all others are but carbon copies. Rather than denying the political conclusions of Marxism, Wurmbrand’s writings reveal a consistent propensity for the theology of the beast.

Marx summed up Communism as the abolition of private property. Wurmbrand agrees, declaring that “Property is theft” and that Christians must renounce the abomination of private ownership of goods (p. 177). Wurmbrand’s endorsement of the socialist welfare state includes a reinterpretation of the text, “If any would not work, neither should he eat” to mean that the state is obligated to feed all men and therefore the state has the right to make them work (p. 176). Thus he endorses the very principle behind every socialist slave labor state. He also advocates a Marxist classless society and proposes. to accomplish this by the nationalization of all the land, the first point of the Communist Manifesto (p. 174). Sounding more like a Trotskyite than a Christian, Wurmbrand reproaches the Communists for not taking the revolution far enough. There are still classes in the Soviet Union, such as ‘Party Members’, Wurmbrand complains, as in his not infrequent praise of Marx’s idealism he affirms the views of those whose only contention with the slave masters of the Kremlin is that they have betrayed the revolution by their infidelity to the ideals of Marx and Lenin.

But the conclusive test is Wurmbrand’s affirmation of the social gospel. For him salvation is not only personal but social, and such social salvation will usher in the Kingdom of God here on earth (pp. 171-172). Here Wurmbrand stands solidly as a Christian Marxist, declaring that there is much common ground between Communism and Christianity and that the good points of the former all stem from the latter. Thus Wurmbrand’s Christian Socialism as well as his persistent Zionism (pp. 190-192) continue to lay the necessary groundwork for the Kingdom of Anti-Christ.

A STRANGE THEOLOGY
Theology, the knowledge of God, must he based on the scriptures. Wurmbrand doesn’t think very highly of the scriptures, placing them on the same level as the writings of Shakespeare and other religions (p. 101), quoting the Talmud and the Kabala as frequently and as authoritatively as the scriptures. Wurmbrand doesn’t think very highly of theology either, calling it sin and terming systematic theology an impossibility (p. 186). But if skeptical of the scriptures, he confidently asserts his own opinion, in his defense of atheism, that the Bible is wrong when it considers all atheists fools. Stating that those who pass from a belief in God to becoming God (pantheism) have achieved a religious atheism that is a higher form of Christianity, he declares that those who deny God may be closer to the truth than those who don’t (pp. 131-133). Wurmbrand’s persistent pantheism (pp. 96, 162, 179, 182) ought to be considered in the light of Samuel J. Andrew’s warning that pantheism “lays a broad basis for the deification of man and so serves as a preparation for the Anti-Christ ” (Christianity and Anti-Christianity In Their Final Conflict, p 158)

Much of Wurmbrand’s theology can only be classified as weird. His writings teem with fables and legends, with mysticism and superstition, with Mariolatry (pp. 30, 35-37, 79) and veneration of saints (pp. 67, 72), and even a pagan Hindu deity (p. 169). But of the heart of the Christian gospel, in keeping with his social gospel, Wurmbrand denies the sufficiency of Christ’s blood atonement (p. 156). Wurmbrand’s contemporary popularity should echo Paul’s warning, “for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine” in the heart of every true believer.

A MARXIST THEOLOGY
But if Wurmbrand fails to conform to the scriptures he certainly doesn’t hesitate to conform to that unholy triumvirate, those three prophets of scientific socialism: Darwin, Marx and Freud. The principle of evolution, heralded by Darwin and seized by Marx as the basis for his messianic drive to the utopia of Anti-Christ, finds fertile soil in the theology of Richard Wurmbrand. There we find that God himself evolved (pp. 19, 44), Christ evolved (p. 291, and Christianity as a religion evolved from paganism (p. 11 1).

Although Freud regarded himself as “one of the most dangerous enemies of religion” (Rushdoony: Freud, p. 34), Wurmbrand plunges into the jungle of Freudianism as he proceeds to psycho-analyze Marx, Lenin, Stalin and company. He thus concludes that they were basically good men unjustly harmed by emotional traumas and complexes in their childhood and that society is to blame for turning such talented and beneficial geniuses against itself (Why Am I A Revolutionist, pp. 5-16). Total depravity, apostasy, the rejection of truth and the judgment that follows (Romans 1, 2 Thess. 2) are ignored as the true genesis of these fountainheads of anti-Christianity

But above all it is especially a Marxist theology. Wurmbrand’s morality is a Marxist morality. To the Marxist, peace, the absence of resistance to communism, is the highest goal, and morality becomes anything, including murder, theft, deception, etc. that will advance that single goal. For Wurmbrand, love is the highest goal, and love is to love the communists, for in this religion anti-communism is hate and therefore its single sin. Thus his love is the Marxist’s peace as he declares, “Sin is every second of my life spent on something other than the destruction of what opposes the triumph of love . . . For me the only criterion of a deed is: does it prepare the way for the final triumph of love” (p. 51). While the scriptures say, “If ye love me, keep my commandments”, Wurmbrand says, “Love God, and do what you will” (p. 53).

But Wurmbrand’s Marxism runs deeper than to stop with even such communist amorality. He says that no law can be righteous, even if it is divine, because every law fixes standards for men of unequal abilities who are put in unequal situations, and therefore God’s law is unjust, unfulfillable and evil (pp. 16-22). For Wurmbrand, justice, which is the highest goal of Christianity, is only possible in the Marxist classless society where all men are equal. His hatred of the divine law is only matched by his blasphemies against the divine Legislator (p. 22), declaring that such a God needs forgiveness’ for his evil laws, that such a God needs a Savior like Jesus, too (P. 18).

Again, Wurmbrand’s Marxism runs deeper than even his Freudian justification of the heroes of the U.S.S.R. He holds the Marxist doctrine of Economic Determinism, that all human actions are determined solely by one’s environment, especially the economic environment. Hence Marx preached that human salvation requires a new economic environment, socialism, to replace the capitalistic environment that produces war, racism, and poverty. Wurmbrand agrees, saying that conscience is unfair because “it does not accept DETERMINISM” It does not acknowledge the obvious fact that my action was the UNAVOIDABLE RESULT of my character SHAPED BY MY WHOLE PAST LIFE . . . THE ONL Y RESPONSE which I . . . could give to EXTERNAL STIMULANTS. Conscience attributes to me alone the guilt of an action which was the end result of . . . the PRESSURE OF MY SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT” (pp. 26-27, Emphasis mine). Wurmbrand goes on to justify every sin from adultery and homosexuality through suicide, since obviously society and not the criminal is to blame. And in this faith it is obviously not spiritual regeneration but a revolution in the social environment that is called for. Other than complaining of the environment of terror, prisons and secret police, Wurmbrand’s faith, theology and gospel is Marx’s faith, theology and gospel. A gospel of creating the Kingdom of God on earth by an environment of love through social action. A gospel of social salvation till we have a classless society ruled by love, not law. An international love, an ecumenical love, that will produce One World, One Church, One Race!

NEUTRALISM
What is the mission of a false teacher? He cannot destroy the church against which even the gates of hell will ne’er prevail, and he cannot blot the names of God’s elect out of the book of life. Thus his mission is to neutralize. To neutralize the Christians who are the light of the world and the salt of the earth, and to seek to fulfil the words of Christ, “but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” He knows that that light must be quenched and that salt neutralized before the program of Anti-Christ can succeed. He knows that it is a spiritual battle (For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers), and if the Christians can be neutralized, then indeed there will be no opposition.

LOVE ?
Christians love justice. Wurmbrand loves love, and like most religions of unbiblical love it degenerates into an indiscriminate, promiscuous love of evil. It justifies the wicked in his sin and calls us to love the criminal, the homosexual, and most of all the Communist. Such permissive love knows neither morality nor justice, as Wurmbrand justifies Laban’s deception of Jacob. “But Laban did not allow him to have her (Rachel), unless he took the ugly Leah too. Laban was a just man, and did not allow preferential love. Christian love must embrace both the good and the bad” (Sermons In Solitary Confinement, p. 67) But as Christians face the greatest onslaught of anti -christianity of all history, Wurmbrand’s neutralizing line is, anti-communism is sin, it lacks love. But Biblical love, regulated in terms of God’s law, knows nothing of such indiscriminate love of evil in defiance of God’s word, which declares, ‘ Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord? Therefore is wrath upon flee from before the Lord.” To love evil is to hate the good, to love the Communists is to hate the Christians, to love the Anti-Christ is to hate Christ. Rather than love the evil, the Bible declares, “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” David’s love of God compelled him to declare, “Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? . . . I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.” David’s triumphal song was, “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight” David rejoiced and gave thanks because, “thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly” and “thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies’ that I might destroy them that hate me.” This is the spirit of militant, victorious Christianity that has carried the Lord’s people onward since the days of King David and must sustain those that would occupy till Jesus comes. And that is the militant Christianity that the Wurmbrands must destroy to prepare the way for the beast.

But Wurmbrand’s strategy goes further than just neutralization. Though any real opposition is sin, we are allowed to fight communism by adopting it. He says, “But, as a Christian must be a Jew to the Jews and a Greek to the Greeks’, so in dealing with Communists, in the same sense we must be Communists. It is . . . impossible to win them if we adopt an anti-Communist approach” (Christ On The Jewish Road, p. 177).. Thus, Communism is not to be opposed with militant, scriptural Christianity but rather with Christian Marxism, as Wurmbrand leads the way showing us the ‘good’ points of communism and the common ground of socialism and Christianity. Wurmbrand, moreover, adds that communism thrives on the injustices of capitalism. Injustices which can, of course, only be rectifiers by adopting socialism, the only path of successful resistance. Thus are the Lord’s people called to surrender and adopt the theology of Anti-Christ.

ATHEISM ?
While often steeped in Marxism, the universal objection of these ‘apostles’ to communism is that it is atheist. This, too, is a neutralizing thrust. Atheism may have been a legitimate complaint in Old Testament times, but it certainly is not in the New. The issue now is the claims of the historic Jesus of Nazareth, which men cannot ignore but are universally called upon to affirm or deny. And accordingly all are then classified as Christian or Anti-Christ.

Atheism is a sin of omission. It can easily, be corrected by adding a belief in God. If Communism is merely atheist, that poses no serious objection to it, it being all well and good but merely insufficient. It then becomes only necessary TO ADD A BELIEF IN GOD AND COMMUNISM WILL BECOME ACCEPTABLE! Atheistic Communism can easily be transmuted into Christian Socialism. Clearly, this is Wurmbrand’s line and the extent of his opposition to Communism. Clearly, this is also the way Communism must develop. The Society of Anti-Christ will not be an atheist society but a religious society where a counterfeit Christianity has flourished. Thus Wurmbrand’s position not only neutralizes the Lord’s people and prepares them to accept socialism, but it is also a necessary prerequisite for the establishment of the beast upon his throne. Again, the only refuge from such subversion is the firm belief that Communism is Anti-Christ. Christian Anti-Christianity is a logical impossibility. Only then does the clear alternative ring out to the Lord’s people: Resist it to the death, seek its total destruction and strive for total victory over it without thought of co-existence or compromise. That is the only path of duty and safety, and that is the straight and narrow path from which these false teachers are luring the very people of God.

CREDIBILITY
The professed heroics of the ‘Soviet Saints’ abound in tales of the impossible. We are told that Christians have infiltrated the Soviet secret police, the KGB, and even the Communist Party, and thus protect their persecuted brethren, warning them of raids, etc. Granovsky’s testimony of the life of an NKVD agent shows the utter moral impossibility of the former. And any brand of Christianity that would join the ‘Party of the Beast’ to survive is far removed from the standards of loyalty that the Savior established for his church. And are we really to believe that Christians bound by God’s law could beat the masters of deceit at their own game? Then we hear that Brezhnev’s wife is a Christian and that Khrushchev himself was converted in retirement at a Christian Businessman’s meeting in Odessa, U.S.S.R. One is almost tempted to think that there must be free enterprise and prayer breakfasts throughout the Soviet paradise. In fact, Wurmbrand assures us that there is much open evangelism and even public protests by Christians in the U.S.S.R. (If That Were Christ Would You Give Him Your Blanket?, pp. 11, 12, 17, 19, 20). He tells us that there are 45 million underground Christians of the ‘Orthodox’ faith alone, another 4 million Baptist, and that one quarter of the Soviet population are secret Christians. We are told that one whole area of the U.S.S.R. is exclusively populated by Christians and that the phenomenal total of 1,500,000 secret Christians are jailed annually in the Soviet State (Ibid. pp. 31, 37, 50). And thus does Wurmbrand statistically affirm his neutralizing line that while Christianity is weak and decadent in the capitalist West, it is well and thriving under the culture of the beast. And all this we are expected to believe! ! !

And it is being believed! The “Christian Crusade Weekly” of Sept. 1974 featured an article by a student of American Christian College. The student wrote a glowing report of the summer that he had spent evangelizing Russia in a Volkswagen bus. Accompanied by an interpreter, though not knowing a word of Russian, he had gone about contacting the underground churches and passing out Bibles. It seems that although the NKVD has been trying unsuccessfully for over 50 years to smoke out these ‘secret’ Christians, anyone from America, even an immature college youth, can do so with ease Then the “Christian Beacon” of March 6, 1975 haled Solzhenitsyn as a ‘committed Christian’. The same Solzhenitsyn that is the darling of the left, that was heralded by the liberal “New York Times”, was awarded a Nobel Prize generally reserved for socialists and communists, was released by the Soviet government with his family and all his papers, and now follows the same harmless line as fanatically as possible And both these papers regularly feature Paul Voronaeff, another “Soviet Apostle”. But apparently the Soviets still think highly enough of him to employ him as an interpreter when they visited this country with a delegation of other phony churchmen, the official Communist clergy (Christian Beacon, March 20. 1975). Truly, as long as Christians exercise such little discernment, the false teachers need scarcely be masters of deceit.

CONCLUSION
Much, much more could and should be said, but one newsletter can only say so much. Paul commended the Berean Christians because they “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Even so, today’s Christians must test the spirits and see if these ‘things be so. We are faced with cultural warfare and the destruction of that Christian liberty and culture that we need to survive as the Church of Jesus Christ. It is a spiritual warfare that far exceeds the barbed wire and machine gun mentality of shallow and artificial anti-Communism. Christianity is being choked out of existence by the political conclusions of Marxism. The false prophets of the underground church represent merely another, a more sophisticated, phase of that same cultural warfare. They are sent to penetrate the church and subvert the remaining foundations of Christianity in the West.

The evangelical churches have been very severely penetrated with Marxism. The scriptures, the foundation of Western Christian Civilization, have been increasingly replaced with the political conclusions of Marxism. And it is on such a foundation of sand that the Wurmbrands and their adherents ask us to fight the Beast of Anti-Christ. If the church is seduced in this respect, when the storms come, great will be the fall of it.

In the final hour of history the church will be called on as never before to be loyal to Christ and to exercise spiritual discernment. Christ commended the Church of Ephesus because “thou hast treed them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars”. Let us likewise, enduring to the end, finishing our course, keeping the faith, and exposing all the unfruitful works of darkness, seek to earn the commendation of our Lord, till he returns in power and glory to destroy the whole Anti-Christ conspiracy with the spirit of his mouth and the brightness of his coming. Amen!”

Richard Wurmbrand, Teaches Belief in the “I” of Self?

Where did the “little god” teaching originate?

Where have we heard this lie before? From the very beginning, in the garden, from the master deceiver himself, the father of lies, Satan, that brought about the fall of man.  “Ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Gn 3:5). However, turning to the source of truth, the Most High God, The I AM has this to say in response to that lie….., “that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he : before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me [emphasis added]” (Is 43:10).

We are Not “Little gods”!

Richard Wurmbrand, Teaches Belief in the “I” of Self?

Can this be possible?! Richard Wurmbrand was an intellectual, and known as a rather “quirky” writer. But can this writing of his from his book, “Victorious Faith”, be interpreted any other way, since this is in his own words?

This may come as a shock to those who have been devoted followers of the Wurmbrands, and Voice of the Martyrs, but a deception is still a deception, no matter what kind of clerical robes it comes dressed in. That Wurmbrand quoted Luther in saying, “The Christian is Christ”, is to perpetuate the age old, yet New Age LIE that self is god, or that god and self are one, and united. No, no, no! We may be Christians, but we are not Christ. We may love God, but we are not God. God may occasionally use a mere mortal servant of His to be his mouthpiece, or even a donkey for that matter, but it does not mean that every word that comes out of a man’s mouth is God breathed. We must test the spirits. And what Richard Wurmbrand is saying here is NOT of God, nor God breathed. It might as well be Kenneth Copeland saying, “When God says I AM, I AM too”. And any fool should know that Kenneth Copeland is not God, or for that matter even a casual facimile, except to his slavish devotees,  who, for whatever crazed reason they may be operating under, have deluded themselves into becoming.

In any case, this issue about Richard Wurmbrand, the originator of Voice of the Martrys, servants of the Persecuted Church…….and the allegations of perpertrating the false mystical teachings apparent in the book,  “Victorious Faith”, under discussion on this page, the bombshell has been dropped, and is no doubt going to bring about a firestorm. I have no idea what the ramifications and outcome of all this is going to be, but it’s very unlikely that VOM is going to be very pleased that some are speaking against the icon of Voice of the Martyrs, whom many have regarded as a literal saint because of his sufferings. But folks, suffering does not equate sainthood. And it’s past time that we set aside our idols, which can become a snare to us if we are not very prudent to seek out the truth in these last days.

And….please pray for me,  as I am just a messenger who desires with all my heart that the Body of Christ will be freed from all forms of  spiritual deception and blasphemy in these last days. Even after all this time since Tom White’s death, I still get daily inquiries, and search terms wanting truth about Tom White’s suicide and wanting to know WHY there has not been a full fledged investigation into Tom White’s death and also into the Voice of the Martyrs organization. Why indeed!

RICHARD WURMBRAND TEACHES THAT SALVATION IS BELIEF IN THE “I” OF SELF– THE GOD IN YOU– THE ATMAN WHO IS THE FALSE CHRIST OF INDIA

Friends, this is absolutely a kick in the stomach. Pastor Wurmbrand, who has blessed thousands with his zeal and devotion to Christ in the past, is now teaching the Hindu teaching of salvation in the Atman, in YOU as a manifestation of the Brahman, Iswara, or, in his case, in the Christ. This is NOT the Christ of the Bible, but is a devil from India. I am sorry to have to put this here, but you MUST be aware that ALL men who teach and stand in a large place before the saints are today suspect until proven innocent. I realize I risk being put there, but never mind, I want YOU to learn self-defense in the Holy Ghost. I give this just as I got it by E-Mail, and thanks to brother Michael A. Drurey for getting it for us.

Steve this was taken from the first 6 or 7 pages from Victorious Faith

by Richard Wurmbrand. I had forgotten how bad this book really is. The

rest of the book is the same with numerous references to his sympathetic

view of Catholicism. This stuff is straight from the pit.

From Victorious Faith by Richard Wurmbrand

My book is not the expression of opinions and sentiments of a man. I hate stuffy- as well as inspired- sermons in which clergymen express their views and their standpoints. I also hate political rallies at which good or bad opinions are expressed. I would prefer that nobody open his mouth unless he knows a truth, an objective truth.

In times of old, there were men among the Jews called prophets, who, when they wrote or when they spoke, began with the words, “thus spake the Lord”.

I write the present book with the full assurance that I am only a voice. Through me, God Himself speaks.

Some will laugh at this assertion at the beginning of a book. [ Editor: Thus… ]

I always like it when people laugh, even at me. Laughter is healthy. Doctors recommend it. There is so little reason to laugh in this world. Why should people not laugh at me? Take it as foolishness if you like, but through this my book, God speaks to you.

How do I know that? Is not God Someone other than me, Someone totally different from me? My means of communication with Him can sometimes work well, but can also be troubled: I might misunderstand Him.

Jesus on the cross cried, “Eli, Eli” (the Hebrew words for “My God, My God”). Those beneath the cross believed they heard the name of the prophet Elijah. Such misunderstandings are daily occurrences.

How then can I have the assurance that what I, Richard Wurmbrand, write is exactly what God wishes me to convey? How did the prophets know?

A great confusion of spheres has taken place. The sphere of grammar and the sphere of religion are different from each other. Every pupil in school, who, when asked to conjugate a verb, replies that God is love and that whosoever believes in Him is born of God, will get a bad mark, even if the teacher is religions. Religion has no place in an examination on grammar.

But neither has grammar any say in religion. In the sphere of practical life we have to conjugate verbs, and for this we need personal pronouns. We have to distinguish between properties: between my house, my book, my wife, and that belonging to another. And so we have to use “I”, “you”, and “he”. But please leave pronouns in the realm of grammar, to which they belong: do not introduce them into religion!

When Jesus Christ met Saul of Tarsus, a great persecutor of the Christians, on the road to Damascus, He asked him, “Saul, Saul, why persecutes” thou Me?” Saul could have answered truthfully, “I never persecuted you. I persecuted your disciples”. But Jesus, though omniscient, does not know that He and His disciples are different persons. He feels Himself persecuted as often as His disciple is hurt; He weeps with every disciple who weeps, He rejoices with every disciple who rejoices.

Jesus says that at the last judgment the wicked will hear the reproach, “I have been hungry, sick, or in prison and you did not visit Me”. And He then explains that as often as one of

His little brethren suffered hardships, it was He Himself who passed through suffering.

The Lord Jesus is our leader in religion. But He might not pass an examination in grammar because He uses interchangeably the personal pronouns “he” and “I”.

The Christian religion consists in becoming inebriated with love. Inebriated men confuse things and persons. The distinction between “I”, “you”, and “he” disappears. Therefore, when I speak, if I am inebriated with love for God, God speaks through me.

Two thousand years ago Jesus said, “I am the Truth”. And for 2,000 years this assertion of His has been falsified and quoted as meaning that Jesus said, “He is the truth”. But He never said that He is the truth.

He said, “I am the truth”. If you make Him a “he”, even with a capital H. you have lost the truth.

What can Jesus, the “he”, the God embodied in a carpenter of 2,000 years ago in Palestine, tell you about modern techniques, about socialism, democracy, or military dictatorship, and which of these to prefer, about whether or not we should accept the philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin or the philosophical implications of Einstein’s theory, about whether we should be fundamentalists or modernists?

What can Jesus, the man who lived 2,000 years ago in Palestine, tell you about the theory of evolution ? Can He tell you to marry George rather than Steve? Can He guide you in any practical matter?

Jesus never wished to be “he”. As a condition for His being the truth, He must always remain an “I”. I am the truth, not he is the truth. If I wish to have the truth and to be the truth, Jesus must be for me an “I”.

It is not true that He must become an I. He is an I. Luther says, “The Christian is Christ”. This is the fact, though you may not realize it yet. When my eyes are opened, I say with St. Paul, “I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me”. Then I become sure of my own thoughts. I write a book, which means that God speaks through my book.

Men of God have always thought like this.

Luther wrote: “I have to distinguish between myself and my calling. I consider myself as the smallest. But my calling is untouchable . . .

Nobody should have a high opinion of his own person, but everyone should mightily praise his calling to the glory of God. Even more. The man who holds the office has not even to prove what he says, he has to be listened to as God Himself”.

To become a Christian means to become Christlike. In what sense? Not everybody is a Jew as Jesus was, not everybody a carpenter, not every disciple of His a male. In what sense then can I become like Him ?

He lived a human life with the full assurance that He was right. In His time, like today, there existed hundreds of religions. In Galilee alone many nations and many religions met. He never chose any of these religions. He believed that man must choose His. Palestine was divided into many groups: the Zealots, the Herodians, the Essenes, etc. Jesus never chose among them. He spoke about earthly things, but others had to accept what He said. He never accepted what others said. He knew Himself to be the embodied truth. To be a Christian means to become Christlike, that is, a man without doubts about the message, a man who knows that Christ is not a “he”. When this man speaks, Christ speaks.

Putting the realities of spiritual life in human words, I will have to use the personal pronouns, but my words will be transparent. Through them, you must grasp the reality behind them: It is the Lord who tells you “Come unto me”. You have to come to him by seeing to it that he is no longer a “he” for you.

I have to make it very clear again. I do not call you to come to him. The sacred words are “Come to Me”. Do not come to him, which means, do not have in the future a “he” as an object of worship and do not be content with this.

The whole idea of subject and object is an illusion [ Editor: In Hindi, read, “Maya” ], which has been strengthened in us by linguistic structures. These will oblige me, too, to “misuse” pronouns. But I do so, conscious that what we call the “I” is only a temporary meeting point of different forces, which continually change their intensity and direction. Learn to think outside the categories of “I”, “you”, and “he” [ Editor: Read, “Empty your mind.” ]. The thinker, the thought of, and the act of thinking are one.

There is one all-powerful “I”. The ten commandments start with the words “I am God”. Within this only God, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17 :28). We form the inward life of God. We are not exterior to Him.

God continually contradicts the notion of an “I” of ours as opposed to His. Jeremiah does not wish to accept the call to become a prophet. He says to God, “I am a child”; but God answers, “Say not, I am a child . . for I am with thee” (Jer. 1:6-8). Significant are the words of God, “Say not I . . . for I . . .” Where His “I” intervenes, the state of our “I” does not count.

Zacharias, when told by the angel that he would have a son, the future John the Baptist, says to the heavenly being, “I am an old man”. This objection is cancelled with the words, “I am Gabriel” (Luke 1 :18-19). For a man to speak in terms of an “I” when he hears a voice from heaven is senseless. It again “not ‘I’, Zacharias, but ‘I’, the angel”.

God calls a man “a fool” (Luke 12 :16-20). This was the man who thought only about his earthly riches. It would have been easy to recognize him as a fool. In three verses of the Bible, he uses the words “I” and “my” nine times, not knowing that this “I” was meant to die on that very night and the “my” to pass into the possession of others.

We will come back to this idea later on. To come to God is just another way of saying to come to yourself, to your real being, to the One whose image and likeness you bear, to the only real “I”.

Jesus told St. Catherine of Siena: “I am He who is, you are she who is not”.

In my church in Bucharest, I had a Russian member who did not know one word of Romanian, the language in which all services were conducted. He was never absent from church. During the sermon, he would read his Russian New Testament.

I felt a responsibility to him. I called him one day and said, “Look, I am your pastor. I would like to know what you understand from this book. Choose a part of it at your convenience and explain it to me !”

He read to me Chapter 1 of the first epistle to the Corinthians and then interpreted, “The apostle writes that Paul had planted the gospel and a certain Apollo had watered, but God gave the increase. From this he draws the conclusion that neither Paul, nor Apollo are anything, but only God. Now, if St. Paul and Apollo are called just nothings, how much is your worth, Brother Wurmbrand ? God has called the things which are not. Be happy to be just a nothing”.

I embraced and congratulated him for understanding the Bible better than I.

Jesus says, “Come unto Me”. Accept the call ! Do not be one of the ice-cold hearts which very often are as hard and as unfeeling as the stones of the prison floor on which Jesus might have slept, after being arrested in the garden of Gethsemane.

Jesus says, “Come unto Me!” and not only to pompous Church services. The great inquisitor in Dostoievsky’s The Brothers Karamasov said to the Lord, “We have improved upon your work”. Jesus in His humility is thankful for improvements.

Editor: Blessed Quietness Journal

I say this carefully– According to the fruit Richard Wurmbrand is giving us in the end of his life (It is not how a man beginsbut how he ends that tells us about him), I thus must tell you Richard Wurmbrand has gone from the North to the East (Amos 8:12), and he is a blasphemer and a false prophet. He must be considered a publican and sinner, and his home church and pastor ought to send him out to be physically worked over by Satan, his true god. Wurmbrand has gone to Rome and filled his cup in the recent past, and now he has finished the journey and is now in an Ashram in India as to theology.

We now see that the Hindu Yogic and Kundalini self-worship has reached well beyond the Brownsville and Toronto Blessing people– Hindu thinking is all around us and in our most Fundamental churches. Watch out for it, and blast it and its teachers every time you see it. Rub it raw, then fill the wound with salt, and rub it in again. What kind of salt are you anyway.

Richard Wurmbrand is a fool for he has said there is no HE who is God.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Richard Wurmbrand clearly has a devil controlling his mind.

Tom White of VOM Death Cause Report Released

http://www.fox23.com/news/local/story/Autopsy-Okla-ministry-leader-died-from-overdose/hpI_NR1buEuHo6uz31wi2g.cspx?rss=2448

It’s now official! Finally after nearly 4 1/2 months Tom White’s autopsy report has been released to the public.

http://examiner-enterprise.com/sections/news/local-news/former-ministry-director%E2%80%99s-cause-death-released.html

Medical Examiner’s Office spokesperson Eddie Johnson said a report on White’s cause of death shows the cause was acute combined drugs, alcohol and diphenhydramine toxicity.

“And the manner of death is considered suicide. And there was no autopsy,” Johnson said.”

Bartlesville Police Dept. Capt. Jay Hastings said, at the time of White’s death,

“We investigate crimes to determine whether or not they happened and whether charges need to be filed. In this case, the person that was listed as a suspect is deceased. There’s not ever going to be charges filed,” he said.

Hastings said reports in that investigation will not be made public.

It seems strange to me that since White’s death appeared to obviously  be a suicide, and that there was no autopsy conducted on his body, that it would take this length of time to release the cause of death…unless there had been pressure brought to bear for the results not to be released until a considerable length of time had elapsed. This can only be left to speculation since the VOM ministry leadership has been very reluctant to release further information.

However, the local scuttlebutt around Bartlesville, Oklahoma where White lived and VOM has it’s US headquarters seems to indicate that the molestation victim was Tom White’s own grand daughter. Again, this is speculation. No one but the parties involved know the truth of what happened for a certainty. But it does appear, as was originally made public, even by VOM, the investigation of molestation by White was enough to drive him to commit suicide. One has to be terribly grieved by this tragedy for all concerned.

Tom White and the VOM Sexual Child Molestation Scandal-the Mystery Continues

Tom White in toupee
Yes, this is Tom White!
For those of you still searching  the Internet, and this blog for new info on Tom’s White’s suicide, and his molestation of the 10 yr old girl, it’s doubtful you will ever hear anything more coming from VOM or the city where Tom White lived, and where VOM has it’s United States headquarters, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. http://www.topix.net/forum/city/bartlesville-ok/TG7MJFON8J5NM4O8V

However, because you’re asking, yes, Tom White did commit suicide and yes, he did commit the molestation of the little girl. But the case has been closed and that’s apparently the way VOM and Bartlesville, Oklahoma want it to be. You can almost hear the sound of crickets chirping. Sad, very sad.

Update..2/18/2014
This is not new information, (to me), but just an accumulation of items I have gathered doing research on both Tom White that I wanted to pass on to the readers.

The inquiries on Tom White and Richard Wurmbrand continue pouring in on a daily basis, even after almost 2 yrs since Tom White’s suicide.

Some of what I have gathered about Tom White is factual, and some may be pure speculation on my part after piecing together the enigma that was Tom White.

Let me start not at the beginning, but here; most of you who have been interested in this have already seen the most publicized pics of Tom, but have you seen the one above? It’s not likely to be included in VOM publications..for obvious reasons; it totally changes the “conservative” image of the man to something quite different. This pic was taken while he was taking a tour of Iraq and Iran sometime during the mid 80’s.
The question that should be in our minds, is “why” did he change his hair color from greying brown to coal black during this trip?

My speculation about Tom is that it is quite possible he was going through a mid-life crisis and wanted to project a more youthful image, at least while out of the country.
And/or….was Tom White leading a double life? According to a man he traveled with on foreign trips for over 10 yrs, the answer would be yes. His comment was brief, but seemed credible. This man, obviously a foreign worker, possibly an interpetor, had posted on the Pathos website that the stories about Tom were true, leading me to believe that Tom had a prediliction toward sexual activities outside of marriage while out of the country and where he was not likely to be discovered. Possibly with underage girls, or who knows what? Please do not be surprised or shocked. The number of “Christian” men in leadership positions indulging in secretive sexual relationships and activities, and being discovered, has grown exponentially, primarily due to the Internet.

To back up a bit…you may ask why I am posting these things? Frankly, because after delving into this…I have come to believe that Tom White was involved in some very dubious activities. For example; a local source who came to me and wished to remain anonymous told me that he had grown up involved with the White children as well as having known White and his wife. He mentioned that the Whites were a very odd couple and seemed to have a marriage of convenience.
My source mentioned that when White got out of the Cuban prison he came back to Bartlesville, OK “loaded with money”. My question to that, Tom White was supposedly a school teacher before he “supposedly” was imprisioned in Cuba; so, where did this large amount of money come from?

He was apparently already involved with VOM at that time, and had offered a local Bartlesville man a large loan on a VOM property. VOM had property holdings in Bartlesville, other than the original VOM building, the old Bartlesville Examiner Enterprise building they had purchased for a reported $27,000??? In any case, White somehow had the liberty to wheel and deal with VOM monies, speculating on interest bearing loans in VOM behalf. How is it that this fledgling “ministry”, back then, would have had that kind of donation money to be offering business loans? Or, did it come from another source?

Question…although I have some major problems with Richard Wurmbrand, and his questionable and strange brand of theology, I simply can’t bring myself to believe he would either approve of or have knowledge of such dealings. And so, if not, then who or what entity was fronting, or funding the money to Tom White under the VOM name? Or, who or what entity was fronting this entire operation that later became the megalith it has become? This seems more than odd to me, and I think it would behoove some of the local residents there in Bartlesville to examine courthouse records.

Back to the rabbit trail….apparently according to an online source that now seems to have gone missing, the Wurmbrands came to know, (and trust) Tom White during a series of phone conversations while the Wurmbrands were guests at this couples home. Richard Wurmbrand learned of Tom White’s supposed imprisonment in Castro’s Communist prison, and apparently this was the main basis for Tom Whites gaining entrance into Wurmbrands confidence and trust. But…can Tom Whites motives be trusted or even believed? Who, for example, can show any actual proof that Tom White spent even one day in a Cuban prison? His book, “Missles over Cuba? Not hardly.

There are many, many things that just don’t add up once one begins piecing together small bits of information about Tom White. Mind you, again, I am not suggesting Wurmbrands direct involvement in some intrigue, but rather looking directly at what White may have been involved in as a front to gain access…and power, into what has later become a monumental enterprise of shall we shall biblical proportions. A massive worldwide multimillion dollar mega company, funded by it’s trusting and adoring donors all over the world, with offices in nearly all free countries. With that kind of money involved I can see any number of powerful and influential “interested parties” wanting to get their fingers in the pot.

Is this all just a conspiricy theory on my part? Perhaps, but when one starts examining small details about VOM,like I said, there are some mighty strange and fishy things that just don’t add up. I for one, do not believe Tom White was who he said he was, or, that he had any real interest in VOM or it’s ministry. I believe, in fact, that he was a plant, a front, for a much larger entity that wanted to gain access to VOM for their own purposes, which was mainly that of control of what was intended to become a major factor in funding their operations via evangelical and tax exempt monies on a world wide basis.

But…who or what entity could or would be able to concoct such a scheme? Right off the bat, without naming names, I can think of at least one huge possibility. To Tom Whites adoring fans who hold him up in a near godlike status, and who will more than likely be outraged at me for even suggesting such a thing, all this will seem preposterous and far out. I’m sorry for that, but suggest you take White, as well as Wurmbrand off those pedestals where you’ve installed them.

For all the seeming good that VOM does, and I do believe it does some good, they have some very faulty un-Christlike theology they have pushed for a number of years and many sincere evangelical sponsers and workers are learning of this and taking serious objections to them. A strange dichotomy indeed to be claiming not to be a ministry per se, and yet pushing ecumenical and other strange doctrines to the max, both in their newsletters and their articles and those they support in their outreach.
However, just as the saying goes, which is a truism, “Follow the money” and do the research for yourself. And please set aside the personal idolatry for White and Wurmbrand out of it, if possible, for those of you who are so inclined to think either they, or VOM itself can do no harm.

(to be continued….perhaps)

The Hypocritical Voice of the Martyrs~VOM

The following is a reblog  from the  FLEEBABYLON post published several months before Tom White’s death on the heels of the investigation of a molestation charge of a 10 yr old girl.

I must admit, I too have been in a quandary about VOM, and have decided to withdraw my support from them. This has been a hard decision because of knowing the good they do. However, it is my feeling that the “good” they do, does not and cannot outweigh the very serious issues concerning the obvious ecumenism VOM has been wading in. Ecumenism is one of the most dangerous issues facing Christianity today, and must not be condoned or supported by the Christian community if they want to obey Jesus Christ, and keep the real Body of Christ, and the gospel of Jesus Christ pure and undiluted with leaven.

May Jesus bless those who stand for the uncompromising truth~

The hypocritical voice of the martyrs | January 4, 2012

I find it ironic that the voice of the martyrs supports the roman catholic ‘church’ considering the great whore has been responsible for shedding the blood of so many saints down through the ages. Many stories in their own book “Jesus Freaks” (that I cherish) are about the Roman and English religious institutions murdering true saints. They don’t usually tell you that though and subtly leave believers with the impression that it was some nasty communist or muslim committing the murder. I hope VOM will be more consistent and start supporting persecuted communists and muslims too along with their support of roman catholics.

Amen brother, I once seriously considered supporting them, but I found it hard once I saw the idols they sell as well. Our brothers and sisters who are under persecution really need prayers and also support, I would also really like to see them drop any ecumenical visions. Something else that has concerned me is that some of the persecuted are Catholic. Much of the world sees Catholicism as Christian and so willfully bring harm on both groups.

So did you read something recently that prompted your post?

I had an email discussion with VOM a while back regarding them calling Catholics “brethren” on their website. After our email conversation they took off the words “brethren” and put “believers”. Same thing in my book. So then I went to a VOM conference that was near me and spoke with Tom White. He basically said that Catholics were believers and that Richard Wumbrand was in prison with a Catholic believer. He wasn’t really changing his view of them. He said that basically the bottom line was the if Catholics are persecuted and need bibles, they will send them to them.

I have no problem with them sending Catholics bibles. They should just send some pamphlet or tracts that exposes Catholicism and calls them to genuine repentance and faith.

The tough part about VOM is that they do support a lot of real persecuted brethren in different countries. Every now and then I read their monthly magazine. I want to help but if you do, you end up supporting an organization that embraces a false religion. So I don’t. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of options when it comes to supporting organizations that support persecuted brethren. Thankfully there are a few.

Sean-

I am doing a lot of research on the translation of the KJV Bible, which lead me to persecution, from the Church of England and Rome, that lead me back to VOM, which I stopped supporting quite some time ago.

“He basically said that Catholics were believers and that Richard Wumbrand was in prison with a Catholic believer.”

I know, I am not sure if you and I have talked about this before, but I am glad that he was not in prison with a mormon believer who was being persecuted for “the faith” along with him. I dare not say anything else against VOM or RW. VOM has been approached by others besides you and they seem to have tried to sweep this issue under the rug and hope it goes away. Because of the ecumenical spirit of the age nobody seems to really care anyway.

There are other places that help persecuted brethren, though what bothers me most is that I would love to support VOM if they repent of the error. They do a lot for sure for true brethren.

Then I guess the point is not whether an individual suffers for Jesus, but which Jesus he or she suffers for, be it Mormon, Catholic, etc. Mathew 7:21-22 comes to mind.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Probably the scariest verses in the Bible to me.

“Smug jim and his collection of haters”

Simply shameful dear pastor.

“Perhaps you should consider your witness to the watching world”

I touched on your golden calf (or should I say cash cow) over at the christianity today article huh? The world already knows that modern christendom is apostate, it is only her victims that are given over to strong delusion and believe the lie.

http://blog.christianitytoday.com/ctliveblog/archives/2012/01/assemblies_of_g_2.html

“The house divided cannot stand…”

And that is the main point. You are playing the hypocrite – being the “senior pastor” (chapter and verse please) of a denominational church who by definition divides the visible church into schisms. I hope you will take the time to consider this plain fact and also to read my testimony of how Jesus saved me from the AOG denomination.

http://fleebabylon.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/my-journey-out-of-babylon/

Plus – here is a friend’s testimony who used to be an AOG teacher. He probably had more teachings on giving at one time than even you currently have on your website (again, shameful sir). This is a quick 30 minute testimony he gave about how God saved him from AOG from a pastor’s perspective. he now serves the body of Christ through Heavens Family, mentioned previously on this thread.

It’s shameful that VOM endorses Roman Catholicism. Period.

They could ask for prayer for persecuted Catholics (for their salvation) without endorsing them.

This goes back to Richard Wurmbrand, whom as far as i know, believed in transubstantiation, which was a common bond he had with Catholics.
.
.
.
.
I also read “Jesus Freaks” and was moved by it, but i also noted, as Jim did, that they removed every reference to the Catholic Church as the persecutor. Why?

Are they afraid that “pastors” like Dave Tinburg will stop supporting them if they tell the truth about Catholicism?

So ithe bottom-line is simply money?

That to keep your income from the “ministry” coming in you need to keep your supporters happy?

Dave Tinsburg, i find your accusations hateful and distasteful

The only issue I have with VOM is that they count cultures who are traditional christian as christian when ‘persecution’ breaks out and speaks of them as christians being persecuted when that isn’t necessarily the case. That is the way I see it anyway.

We got the animated video from VOM, “Jesus: He lived among us”, and while i believe it’s good for kids and anyone to learn something from, it has a loose approach to the Scriptures, and misquotes Jesus in a few places, quite blatantly. Their reasoning for this baffles me.

Recently i met a believer here in Shillong who met brother Richard when he came here years ago. He just dropped in at the place he and his wife were staying in the early morning, and Richard asked him to join them for breakfast. As this brother was leaving, Richard reached into his bag and gave this brother a tiny piece of communion bread, which he had saved and kept to give as a blessing.

It’s so sad that a brother like that could suffer so much for Jesus name and yet still be superstitious.

If you want to know how deceived VOM is an organization, and how badly the leaven has worked its way through them, consider their recent post titled “Myths about anti-Christian persecution”.
=========================================

What misconceptions have you heard or had about the persecuted Church?

John L. Allen Jr. recently highlighted in the National Catholic Reporter what he believes are five myths about anti-Christian persecution. Below are excerpts from his article.
=========================================

Jim again – so VOM not only endorses catholicism but is now using it as an authoritative source to explain to us about true persecution. This is beyond words. Truth has fallen in the streets.

Since when is someone ruining a picture of a catholic idol “persecution”. I guess Asa was persecuting the jews in the eyes of VOM.

2Ch 14:2 And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God. He took away the foreign altars and the high places and broke down the pillars and cut down the Asherim

Catholic Church in Maywood Vandalized, Called a Hate Crime

Stacy L. Harp

May 25, 2010

We’ve covered numerous churches in recent days that have been either set on fire, or burglarized or vandalized. Today we have a sad story about a Catholic Church in the Los Angeles area, that has been vandalized with the number 666 being scrawled in the kitchen, a knife being stabbed into a picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe and then someone had defecated in the sanctuary.

The Catholic Church is calling this a hate crime and police are investigating. Click here to read more.

Voice of Martyrs, Tom White, Dies Under Tragic Circumstances

http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/?p=9201

The Voice of the Martyrs statement concerning the death of Tom White:

The events of the last week are tragic. On Wednesday we learned that Tom White, VOM’s executive director, had died.

Allegations were made to authorities this week that Tom had inappropriate contact with a young girl. Rather than face those allegations, and all of the resulting fallout for his family and this ministry and himself, Tom appears to have chosen to take his own life.

None of those in leadership at VOM, including our Board of Directors, were aware of these allegations at the time of Tom’s death.

There is no doubt that Tom cared about his wife, his children and his grandchildren. And there’s no doubt that he cared about VOM.

We are deeply saddened by these events. Our hearts are broken.

However, the work that God has called VOM to do is bigger than any one of us. There are persecuted Christians who need our help. The legal process will go forward, and we will continue serving with our persecuted brothers and sisters.

We appreciate the many who are praying for our work, and we encourage you to join us in praying for Tom’s family during this difficult time, as well as the family of the alleged victim.

A letter from VOM’s president will be posted on our web site, http://www.Persecution.com, next week. (source)

VOM and the Tom White Suicide-Sexual Molestation Scandal-the Silence is Deafening

Pope Benedict still pushing “unity” of all religions…(ecumenism) Apparently VOM is sympathetic to Catholicism from all indications!

Friends, I have to agree with Lighthouse Trails Research take on this. There is still a hushed atmosphere in the VOM camp about this mess, in what seems to be an obvious attempt to sort of sweep this scandal under the carpet and hope the whole sordid event will blow over. What really upsets me is the unwillingness of the Christian admirers and supporters of VOM to believe that Tom White was capable of either committing suicide…or, sexually victimizing this young, innocent girl.

Also, as Lighthouse Trails reports below, the way VOM couched their PR statements with carefully constructed words to soften the truth is very disturbing and disappointing.  I would have expected more from them.

It’s far past time for the church to clean up their act and stop being in denial about the fact that all too often, the church has been as guilty as sin of the cover up and collusion in sexual and spiritual abuses in the church.

“As many of you know, Voice of the Martyrs long-time Executive Director, Tom White is suspected of committing suicide last month. On Wednesday, April 25th, 2012, Voice of the Martyrs president, Jim Dau, issued a statement titled: “Heartfelt Letter from VOM’s President on Tom White.” The letter expressed deep sorrow for the untimely suicide death of Tom White. The letter did mention that White took his life after allegations came forth that White “had inappropriate contact with a young girl.” While the letter said that White loved his wife and children and that personnel at VOM were heartbroken, virtually nothing was noted in the letter to express the deep sorrow that should be felt for the alleged 10- year-old victim. When a child is molested, it is a scar he or she will live with the rest of his or her life.

While we can understand that VOM staff and leaders are most likely in a state of shock and despair over Tom White’s apparent suicide and the circumstances surrounding his death, they need to understand that they are being watched right now by millions around the world to see how they will handle this tragic situation. God forbid that they would try to white wash and minimize what Tom White allegedly did. When you have organizations such as the American Psychological Association stating that sexual contact with children is OK as long as the child is consenting, and when you have a fallen society, such as America, that says homosexuality is normal and abortion is acceptable, and when you have a society that is filled with pornography from grocery stores to the Internet, Christian believers cannot fall into such a demoralizing evil trap that by its very nature denies God.

Even referring to White’s alleged child abuse as “inappropriate contact with” somehow minimizes such a crime. Using the word “with” can give the impression that there is some sort of mutual agreement. Rather than stating “inappropriate contact with,” it would be better to state “immoral contact against” the girl. We don’t mean to sound picky, but VOM should choose their words very carefully right now, for the sake of their ministry, for the sake of child abuse victims everywhere, and yes, for the sake of the Gospel.

We are not trying to say that the work Tom White participated in for many years at VOM to help persecuted people should be negated. But please, VOM, do not try to make this less than it is. Take this opportunity to humbly apologize to the body of Christ, to the little girl and her family, and to God.

Perhaps, Jim Dau left out feelings of remorse for the little girl in order to protect VOM financially or legally. But if VOM thinks they will help their organization maintain its integrity and financial strength by writing letters like the one Jim Dau wrote, they are terribly mistaken. Humility, repentance, restitution (to the girl and other possible victims), biblical integrity, honesty – these are the qualities that their donors and supporters will be looking for.

Voice of the Martyrs has, as have most mainstream Christian organizations, been promoting contemplative spirituality and showing signs of being sympathetic toward Catholicism. Wouldn’t this tragedy be a perfect time to get right with God, and in so doing, point the world to the One Who came to save whosoever shall believe on Him?”

Spiritual Abuse in the Church~The Churches Best Kept Secret!

Where does it start? In the local church. Not only in the leadership in the church, but in the members as well. I know what the woman in this video says is true, because as a new believer, I saw and experienced this in two local churches I belonged to.

This is apostasy. Do not be deceived into believing the apostate church can be reformed….it can only be abandoned.

Remember what Jesus said: “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8, 31-32

This truth will set you free if you obey Jesus and His Word. Church cannot save you. Man cannot save you. Only Jesus Christ, who is the Word of God, and is The Way, The Truth, and The Life, can truly set you free from deception and manipulation. And whom the Son sets free, is Free indeed.

The Catholic Side of Billy Graham

“My beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Roman Catholics”

~Billy Graham

http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/article.php?articleid=7895

“To understand Billy Graham, his involvement in the Ecumenical Movement, and why he would accept something like the Templeton Award, we must understand his relationship with Rome. While the principles of ecumenism can be traced back for centuries (through the Gnostics, Rosicrucians, Freemasons, and of course the Parliament of World Religions) it was Rome’s Vatican II that “officially” launched the modern ecumenical movement. Vatican II opened the doors of Roman Catholicism (which the world largely views as the oldest form of Christianity) to all other religions of the world. This is why Vatican II is often referred to as “the ecumenical council.” As such, as the relationship of Billy Graham developed with the Vatican and the popes, his views became increasingly ecumenical. This has confused many people because they don’t make the Rome-connection. Graham, like many other Protestant Evangelicals, seems to be working to fulfill – not the Great Commission – but the mandate of Vatican II. Once this is understood, the rest of what Billy Graham has done begins to make sense.

The subject of Graham and Rome has been handled by many Christian writers, not the least of which is Ewin Wilson in his book, The Assimilation of Evangelist Billy Graham into the Roman Catholic Church. Wilson writes:

“For some unexplainable or even mysterious

reason, Billy Graham is unable to discern the

theological, moral, and spiritual soul of Roman

Catholicism. Likewise, he has failed to grasp,

or worse still, has chosen to ignore the historical

character of the entire Vatican system. Instead,

he has chosen to become attracted, impressed,

and finally to honor and follow the Holy See.

The result has been a tragic failure on his part

to understand the difference between the truth

of God’s Word and the utter blackness of

Roman Catholicism …” 5

Tom White of VOM-Molestation Not Just Allegations but Fact Admits Police

This is a recent statement confirming that Tom White did indeed sexually molest the little 10 yr old girl, and so we can now, at last, dispense with the word “allegations”. This information has been posted here on this blog, and elsewhere on the Internet, but there are some folks who apparently haven’t been made aware of it, and are still referring to this matter as “allegations” against Tom White, and for whatever reason, seem to be in denial.

To  Christians, I would say this…this is not the time to be in denial………..about anything. We are living in a very dark hour. We don’t have time to play games, speculate, or hold people’s persons in admiration, elevated to almost godlike status. Or, be in deception about anything. The truth is available to all, it’s found in holy scripture, and prayer.

Bartlesville Police Capt. Jay Hastings said the department is closing its abuse investigation because the suspect is dead.

“The case is basically not going anywhere,” said Hastings, who also noted that the department’s next step is to ensure the girl receives proper treatment or counseling.

“The child still has to deal with what’s happened,” he said. “Our main goal at this point is to make sure the family and victim get the proper services, basically.”

Bartlesville police are awaiting autopsy results from the state Medical Examiner’s Office, whose spokeswoman said Monday that the report was still pending.

Hastings would not say Monday if the victim was somehow involved in the ministry or how White may have come in contact with her.

(Note: To Capt. Hastings credit, and/or the Bartlesville, OK PD in general, it’s entirely understandable and professional, under the circumstances at this time, for the protection of the victim, that information should be withheld concerning how Tom White may have come in contact with her).

Tom White of VOM Molestation Case Closed by Local Police

VOM thinks you’re Stupid…….

The Bartlesville, OK police department has closed the case on the “alleged” sexual molestation investigation concerning Tom White of Voice of the Martyrs.  It’s not surprising the way this is being played out, since Tom White  killed himself, (well, we were told he  killed himself),  before any charges could be brought against him. Obviously, you can’t charge a dead man with the crime of pedophilia.

There hasn’t even been a definitive cause of death concerning White, since the medical examiner’s report hasn’t been released yet, and apparently it won’t be for another three to six months.

So, VOM, and the locals have figured out a way to tidy this mess up and make it all go away, and appear that there “really never was any suspicion that an iconic religious leader such as Tom White could commit such a heinous crime. Convenient for the “ministry” perhaps, and convenient for the city of Bartlesville, and sparing of Tom’s widow and family, but…..where is the real truth in all this? I think it got buried with Tom White.

And now…it looks like VOM will go back to doing whatever it was doing before Tom “allegedly” killed himself. I know I’m being sarcastic, but I can scarcely contain my disgust at this moment.
