Ye Olde Tithe Barn

During the period when Catholicism reigned supreme in northern Europe, “tithe barns” were developed in the 13th and 14th century.  The purpose of the tithe barn was to extract goods, (tithes), from the local farmers, mostly peasants, who were already hard pressed to pay exorbitant taxes to the landed gentry, lords and/or the king or queen.  Never mind the fact the Levitical priesthood had been abolished along with the Old Testament Law after the advent of the New Covenant of Grace established by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the High Priest forever after the Order of Melchizedek.

“A tithe barn was a type of barn used in much of northern Europe in the Middle Ages for storing rents and tithes — one tenth of a farm’s produce which was given to the Church. Tithe barns were usually associated with the village church or rectory and independent farmers took their tithes there. The village priests would not have to pay tithes—the purpose of the tithe being their support—and some had their own farms anyway, which are now village greens in some villages.

Many were monastic barns, originally used by the monastery itself or by a monastic grange. The word ‘grange’ is (indirectly) derived from Latin granarium (‘granery’). Identical barns were to be found on royal domains and country estates.”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tithe_barn

Examples of a modern day Tithe barns:

These are the largest tithe barns in America. Not all tithe barns are this large; some are very small, but the principle and purpose is still the same as the tithe barns of olden times……..That is, to practice the doctrines and deeds of the Nicolaitanes and make money at it. Never mind the fact that Lord Jesus hates the doctrines and deeds of the Nicolaitanes and never intended for the so called “clergy” to rule over the “laity” as you see done all over the United States in large or small tithe barns.

Steeple Houses…you can’t put God in a Box

il_570xN.797589568_4yic

This is obviously a picture of a bird cage with a steeple on top. Pretty fancy for a bird cage isn’t it?

Steeples are interesting; there are many theories about how steeples got started. Not on bird cages, but on the top of church buildings. I don’t think anyone knows for sure why, but the practice apparently goes back to the 600’s, undoubtedly with the Catholic church. The steeples, churches and then the cathedrals became bigger and more elaborate with time.  After the reformation began, the reformers unfortunately continued many of the Catholic practices, including that of putting steeples on top of their church buildings.  As time went on the practice diversified, as things always do in the world of men, and steeples were placed on top of Lutheran churches,  Baptist churches, Methodist churches, Presbyterian churches, etc; and so on, of every shape and size, large or small,  on every street corner in every town.

Well, you get the idea, and so the putting  of steeples on top of various church denominations became standard practice until fairly recently when church design took on a more modern look.

However, there is just one very important problem with all this………..God does not dwell in a house made with hands, never has, never will.

“The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands” Acts 17:24

There was a saying that became popular with church folks about 20 or so years ago, that went like this...”You can’t put God in a box”. This is a very true saying, however, these church folks were preaching this thing about God from the inside of boxes they had made for Him….called “churches”.

So, when mankind, thinking falsely to serve the Most High God by all this church building and steeple placing, in reality, all they have accomplished is  creating a bird cage for themselves. With or without a steeple….. that is a fact.

Apostle Peter: From Humble Fisherman to the Big Time?

wronghere

There IS something wrong with this picture! The Apostle Peter knew better than this. He would never have taken on such lavish grandiosity to himself. He walked with the Lord Jesus Christ, and knew very well the teachings of the Lord to have a servant’s attitude toward others.

“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:25-28

It should be obvious to anyone that so-called “Popes” bear no resemblance to either the Apostle Peter, or the Lord Jesus Christ. Apparently the Roman Catholic Church made this stuff up as they went along, because the Apostle Peter didn’t practice or teach Roman Catholic man made doctrine, and neither did the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s get back to the basics of Truth and the bedrock of Christianity, the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not man made doctrines. “Traditions” do not trump the Holy Scriptures.

evilpopeprahronememe

See? This is NOT the example the Lord Jesus Christ, or the Apostle Peter left. I pray that all Catholics will pray and see the truth of the gospel, and get past what they were taught, to read the Bible for themselves and to be set free from the bondage of the Catholic church.

Pope Francis is Not the “Holy Father”

Alex Jones asks in this excellent video if the Jesuit Pope Francis is the devil? No, but the Pope is an agent of the devil. This sort of statement doesn’t sit well with Catholics who believe the Pope is infallible and can do no wrong. They call him “Holy Father”, but the Lord Jesus Christ said this:

“Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. “Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. “But the greatest among you shall be your servant. “Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:9-12

Yes, I know that Catholics have an answer, (excuse) to call the Pope the Holy Father, but most have not been encouraged or taught to read the bible, or they would read what the Lord Jesus Christ said in the next sentences about not exalting yourself, about humbling yourself and not becoming leaders. The Catholic clerical hierarchy is all about exalting itself, and lording over the common people: the “laity”.  This is Antichrist….plain and simple.

No Church Can Save you~

No “church” can save you. Any so-called Christian church, whether it be “Protestant” or “Roman Catholic” that teaches that you can’t be saved outside of their “church”, beliefs, doctrines, traditions, or sacraments, is lying against Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior and His Holy Scriptures. Make no mistake, the Holy Scriptures trump all man made doctrines, and traditions of men, and all forms and appearance of godliness.

In Christ Alone, by Faith Alone…

1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2

Be Warmed and Filled, with 4 Boxes Mac and Cheese, etc

christian_cliches-237x300

I have recently made contact with a dear old friend of many years that I’d lost track of since I moved to a different state. She and her adult son had just moved into a Mobile Home and park, pooling their limited money to make the first payment and utility deposit. This was the first real home they’ve had in many years due to a series of serious illness, misadventures, trials, and tribulations.

I found out that they had absolutely no food in the kitchen, nothing in the pantry. or fridge. Since they had been living with a relative there was no condiments; things like flour, sugar, tea, spices, etc. I knew poverty had been  like a black cloud hovering over both their lives for years. There had been many times when they’d both moved in with me, like the time Karen first left her husband due to his adultery and physical abuse. This time, their need and their hunger was immediate and urgent.

I have come to accept Karen’s personality and what the “church” would call her short comings, (spiritual failures) but have come to realize she has more humility, forgiveness and love for the Lord Jesus…….. and everyone else, than the legalistic, self righteous, judgmental leadership of the old church we both started in and later came out of.

However, I emailed an SOS to a sister in that church and asked if they could help Karen and her son have some food. I heard later that the main female pillar in the church came by with some items in the churches “food pantry”. She kind of lamely apologized and said the church has declined, (that was true) and “didn’t have much”. She gave Karen and her diabetic son 4 boxes of mac cheese, 1 can of Carnation milk, box of oatmeal, 1 small sack of dried beans, and a few cans of vegetables. But nothing they could put together a meal with. No bread, fresh milk, bread, butter, vegetables, or meat, etc. However, their “tithes” still go to keep that old falling apart bird cage going with only 9 adults and 3 kids attending.

I received an email the next day from the church sister, saying “they were glad they could help Karen with the food, And that Jesus would provide for them”. And yes of course he does. But not through that bunch of churchy folks. I was even more disappointed in that place than I had been when I left. In any case, the next day an itinerant preacher came by and furnished a Mexican restaurant meal for Joshua and some take out for Karen. Joshua got a decent paying job a few blocks away. And Karen may get a few hours a day at the same place that will allow for her disabilities.

The Lord Jesus gave me this scripture explaining what had happened:

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself”.James 2 14-16

More on this particular church later. It was my education in the Lord how Nicolaitanism works against Christians.

~All Power Tends to Corrupt and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely~

“But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and lto give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20-27
