The Dark World of Megachurches

Megachurches, Televangelists, and the Prosperity Gospel… those were things that I had never heard of before… until I stumbled across an infamous interview with Kenneth Copeland by Lisa Guerrero from Inside Edition. What ensued after was a dive into rabbit hole unlike any other, from corrupt preachers, to lavish lifestyles, to claims of miracle healings, to cult-ish followings, and New Age/New Thought concepts. This… is the dark world of Megachurches.

The Sheep are Feeding the Shepherd

I can’t find any place in the New Testament where pastors were paid a salary. It may have been that some evangelists were supported by the people since they couldn’t hold down full time regular jobs, but there was never any mention in the scriptures of a tithing system expected of the early Christians to pay money, or salaries to any of the apostles, prophets, teachers or pastors. So, the question is…who gave these modern day pastors the right to collect tithes for themselves, and live as wealthy, and in such luxury as the king of a small country, buying…. and flying around the world in private jets, and living in huge lavish mansions at the sheep’s aka laity’s expense? But these spiritually obese “pastors” expect to be well fed, as it has become the accepted model in today’s upside down apostate church.

Some things have never changed since Ezekiel’s time.

3And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say unto them, ‘Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds: Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe yourselves with the wool, ye kill the ones that are fed; but ye feed not the flock.

The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.Ezekiel 34:2-4

Beware of “Christian” Fellowship

Warming a pew, or even a pulpit every Sunday and Wednesday does not make one a Christian

I know what this brother is talking about is truth. I have dealt with this in my own life and walk with the Lord. Someone said to me a few years ago…“You have isolated yourself”. That wasn’t exactly true because what I had done in obedience to the Lord, was leave an apostate church, along with the horrible sins I saw being committed there, all the while they were proclaiming this was a bible believing “spirit filled church”. When I left, I also left all my “Christian” friends whom I had previously fellow-shipped with. I found myself in a peculiar situation. I was now caught between two worlds, neither one of which I could return to without being disobedient to my Lord and Savior;  which was the apostate “church world” and it’s fellowship, and the world and it’s fellowship of sin and so-called pleasure. Frankly, neither one had any appeal to me any longer.

So, I found myself alone. Or was I? Of course not, the Lord Jesus was with me, as He promised….that He would never leave me or forsake me. But what kind of a test was this I wondered? I’ve finally come to the conclusion that this was indeed a test…and the situation I was in, without TRUE and obedient Christian friends. Would I turn back to compromise with sinful “Christians”, or would I turn back to the friendship of the world? Of course, I could do neither one and still be obedient to the Lord Jesus. And…I had no desire to go back anyway. The love of Christ constrained me. I just wanted the Lord Jesus, and He was more than enough to fill my heart and spirit with His love and fellowship. His Grace was more than sufficient in more ways than one.

Even though this has become, in one sense, a very “isolated” life, as far as fellowship and “friends” are concerned, I have found much peace and joy in the solitude the Lord has given me to fellowship with Him. In fact, I have become rather jealous and protective of that time. Maybe He is jealous of me as well, and wants me just for Himself without sharing with other lovers? I have found that like a jealous husband,  He allows me to welcome and minister to others only when He opens the door of opportunity, sends out an invitation… and only then.

We are to desire True Christian fellowship, but what if it’s just not available? We can’t be friends with the world or worldly Christians and that’s just the way it is. The Lord Jesus will fill every need in His own way and His own time. Trust Him and don’t try to run ahead, and expect Him to add His signature to what you want. He has a purpose in whatever situation you may find yourself.

Although the “church” folk around claim I am back-slidding  because I disobeyed the commandment of Hebrews 10:25 which to them means that you have to be present every time there is a church service.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

This is nonsense if the “church service” amounts to allowing sin and sinful Christians to freely operate with impunity and not even a raised eyebrow because they all think they’re in obedience. Crazy? Yes, because the Lord Jesus has plainly told us in the scriptures NOT to fellowship with “Christians” operating openly, (or even covertly), in sin:

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13But those who are outside, God judges. Remove that wicked man from among yourselves. 1Cor5

So, were these “Christians” that I left behind removing any wicked people from their assembly, or even addressing their own sinful disobedience? No, in fact, they were embracing it!

If we are to be truly obedient to the Lord Jesus, we are going to have to make some sacrifices and possibly to suffer for it. but we must take up our own crosses, whatever they may be to follow the Lamb…because He’s Worth it, whatever the cost, and it may cost you everything you once held dear.

“Do not be like those who fall for the Christian fellowship trap. They are under the impression and teaching that you must have fellowship otherwise you are not a true Christian. The problem is when people think they must have fellowship and seek fellowship they end up getting with the wrong people. They start listening to man and not to God and Satan uses those around them to distract them to cause them to stumble. To take their eyes off Jesus Christ. You see we do not need fellowship to enter the kingdom. We need fellowship WITH JESUS CHRIST. That is who we need fellowship with. If you do not have fellowship with Jesus Christ and you die, your name will not be found written in the lambs book of life. He only writes names in that book, of those who abide in him, they have fellowship with him and he has fellowship with them. When we have fellowship with Jesus, his blood cleanses us from all sin because we are walking in oneness and unity with Jesus Christ.

But the problem with many Christians today, is that they seek fellowship, but those of whom they seek fellowship with, are living in sin and they condone sin and so they fellowship with those who are workers of darkness and this fellowship destroys the faith of many. It is written not to associate with those who profess Christ but live in sin. So when you go along to your church and there is all these people interested in the latest sport news, then you know that there is no fellowship there for you unless you want to break the rules and start having fellowship with darkness. The road of a disciples is a lonely road. You are not going to meet many people who put Jesus first and who are only interested in what Jesus wants them to do. You are going to meet them here and there and then you will have fellowship, but you will not find much fellowship because for instance the early disciples like Paul and Peter spent a lot of time alone or with one or two other brothers.

They got the gospel from Christ from fellowship WITH Christ. Paul spent a lot of time alone in the desert getting to know Jesus. A lot of the time he suffered alone, and the died alone. Paul wrote not to forsake gathering with those of the true faith, that is true, but the problem is with this day and age is that people don’t want to have fellowship with Jesus. They seek fellowship with man and that is why they start getting disappointed because they start listening to man and then man lets them down and they start to blame God because of man’s failure and they end up in the darkness, because they allowed themselves to be ruined by all this fellowship. What fellowship do you have today?

There is only one fellowship that counts and that is getting your relationship sorted out and straightened out with Lord Jesus Christ. If you don’t get that fellowship straightened out, you will not be able to benefit anyone who is in need of Jesus. And when you do walk with the Lord, he will help you to provide the right kind of fellowship that leads people to be disciples of Jesus. Not just fellowships of friends where you just waste time and start sinning with your words and start being foolish in the world. That is the unfortunate situation in many churches. Seek the right fellowship before it is too late. Jesus bless you.”.My site at

Apostate Matrix Churches-Saints Leaving in Droves

Back-slidden Apostate Churches, aka, The Matrix Church

I like what this man has to say in this video. It is the Truth!

These are the days when apostasy and compromise have become quite commonplace in churches across the land. The biblical warnings have fallen on deaf ears in many places where those who will not obey the admonitions in scriptures  have not “ears to hear, nor eyes to see”, and who will not endure sound doctrine.

Be not deceived, beloved brethren. Make no mistake, the majority of mainstream, organized religion churches are indeed practicing compromise with the world. If you have experienced spiritual abuse in churches…if you have encountered persecution, abuse, and compromise from inside the “church”, you have experienced what the Apostle Paul warned about…that “savage wolves have entered in, not sparing the flock”.

Obeying Jesus Christ and His gospel is very precious and costly. What will it cost you? It will indeed cost you everything if you intend to obey and follow the Lamb of God ! It takes courage not to compromise. Who will you stand for, no matter what the cost?

Remember what Mary said to the servants at the wedding at Cana? , “Whatever He, (Jesus), tells you to do, do that!” That is what we must do if we intend with all our hearts, minds and strength, to obey the commandments of Jesus. Costly? Yes! But there is a blessing in it, to be walking with Him in Spirit and in Truth.

The apostate church cannot be reformed, it can only be abandoned. For this reason, the LORD said,

16And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17Therefore come out from among them, and be you separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2nd Cor; 6 KJV.

Rest assured as you follow on to obey Him and  stand on His promises, he will not fail you. As you obey, in love and patience, in due time, He will bring you into fellowship with other true believers who also refuse to compromise with the world, and worldly churches….those who’ve also had the courage to “Come out from amongst them”. Indeed, if you have been experiencing spiritual abuse, persecution in the church, this may be the Lord’s way of telling you it’s time to come out.  If the church where you are going bears no resemblance to the early church Jesus set up in the book of Acts, teaching and practicing the same way, it is a counterfeit and not of Him, no matter how it appears to be superficially.

Why would this surprise us? We’ve been warned it would happen.

My fervent prayer is that all who’ve been hurt, abused, deceived and persecuted in such churches by false brethren will be healed and ministered to by Jesus. That He will pour in the oil and the wine. If you have been hurt and spiritually abused,  we invite you to come, share your story with others and fellowship. We will listen…because we’ve “been there”, and we care about you. “By this you will know them, that they love one another”.

May Grace and Peace be multiplied to you~

Thomas Gibson- Prophetic Word
2003 01 31.1

For thus saith the Lord. Do not despair. I am going throughout the churches of America to see who will put My Name first, who will put the salvation by the Blood of the Lamb above all else. Those who do so will be blessed by the Lord above; but those who do not will be condemned by Me.

Do not turn to the world or the world’s ways. Do not listen to the ways of many who compromise My gospel. Those who turn away from the compromising position of the worldly church will be blessed by Me. Those who continue in the work of compromising My Word will be condemned!

Do not doubt this word. I am going throughout the world and throughout the churches in America to see who will put me first. It is time that the worldliness be burned out of the church! It is time to see that God is placed first above all things. There is power in the name of Jesus. Those who walk in that power are walking with Me. Those who do not walk in the power are walking with the world.

Not only will I turn away from godless churches, but I will turn to those who are truly serving Me in truth and power, and I will give them a protection in this time. For coming soon is a persecution and a strong attack against My people. Not only that but there is coming trouble to America’s shores. I will protect and guide My people through this time.

Do not partake in those churches and religious organizations who will not listen to the Word of God and follow it in a complete way.

2003 02 16.1

In a dream I was walking around an old church building. This building had an old cracked foundation in very bad shape. I was walking along the back of the church on an old sidewalk that was in worse shape than the church building. It was badly sunk in places and I had to be careful to not trip on the concrete.

As I walked along I was aware of what the people in this church were planning. There was a person who was with me and he asked what they were going to do with this old church building. I told him that the people of this church had decided to tear it down and rebuild in another location outside of the city. As he looked at the cracked foundation he remarked to me that that was a very good idea, it was what they needed to do.

Then as I had almost finished walking around the building I stepped on two nails which went into my shoe, but not into my foot. I looked at how far in they were and was thinking I would need a hammer to pull them out. I then woke up.

It was then that the Lord began to show me the meaning of what I had just seen. He said there were three main important facts about this church.

1. The foundation was cracked because they had built on worldly things, not on the Rock Christ Jesus.

2. They were building outside the city limits. It was a great new church to themselves and they were moving away from the people it was originally designed to reach.

3. The walkway at the back of the church was so cracked it was hard to walk on, and this was an indication that it would be very hard for an outside person to find the way, in that church, to Jesus.

Then the Lord began to show me the symbolism of the nails on the sidewalk going around the church. They represent the additional troubles of preaching against sin, rather than deliverance from sin. One nail represents the preaching against sin without any obvious deliverance, the other represents the refusal to show the people, who sought for an answer, the deliverance through Jesus’ Blood.
