The recognition of San Saturio as a saint in the catalog of saints of the Church arrived onAugust 31, 1743 by decree of Pope Benedict XIV, the patronage and festive character of both precepts was granted to the city of Soria, on the day of San Saturio. The city opens the month of October with a novena in honor of San Saturio, whose relics are processioned. The streets are dressed up with parades of giants and big heads, concerts and fireworks. It is tradition, on the other hand, to celebrate a pilgrimage to the hermitage of San Saturio.

That must surely be true. It seems our relationship began by divine appointment, so our Lord has something in mind for her. She knows I’m not Catholic, but we’ve talked a lot about Jesus. I just sent her an audio link so she can listen to the Bible as she travels many miles making her nursing visits. It’s Satan’s worst nightmare when people begin reading the bible. 🙂

    • God’s Word brings victory, sis. You did the best for her and truly served the Lord!

I would argue that it’s Satan’s worst nightmare when people learn about the Scriptures along with the history of the Early Church & the role of the Teaching handed down by Christ through His Apostles & their successors (Tradition) throughout the ages so that people would actually know Scripture is interpreted. The lack of these 3 leads to misinterpretation, confusion, chaos, disunity, animosity, etc. – none of which is Scripturally from the Holy Spirit. This is what happens when people assume the perspecuity of Scripture – that the teachings are self-evident & that anyone can understand them on their own reading. We have seen the results of this line of thinking: thousands of Protestant denominations all with their own interpretations all claiming to know the truth of Scripture, all claiming that the Bible is their sole authority – even though this isn’t taught within the Scriptures themselves – all contradicting each other on some point or another – even where they can’t agree on how to be saved.

The scriptures are truth and can be clearly understood by the most humble, honest and sincere believer in Jesus Christ without the aid of so called expertly trained theologians. The Bible says, ” As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit-just as it has taught you, remain in him.” 1st John 2:27 This is about as plain as it gets. Also allow me to point out, the Apostle Paul, being newly saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, spent something like 3 years alone in the desert, being taught Holy Truths by revelation of the Holy Spirit to him. Remember, Paul said he immediate;ly conferred with no man, (upon his conversion). This proves a sincere disciple of Jesus can be taught by the Holy Spirit alone, not having to be schooled by “tradition”, man made doctrines, or by preachers, pastors and/or priests. One more point, Jesus himself said to the Jews who believed…”IF you will continue in My Word, you will be MY disciples indeed, and THEN, you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you Free. What Word is Jesus talking about? The Holy Scriptures.

Go back to the historical Church – the Catholic Church.

A saint is a holy one (that’s literally what it means). How did they get that way?

      Because of Christ Jesus.

      1. They are baptized into Christ, regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
      2. They are united to Christ & are therefore holy.
      3. Their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.
      4. They abide as branches receiving their life from the Vine, Christ Jesus, therefore they (their souls) cannot die.
      5. Their bodies await the resurrection in the Second Coming.

The same could be said of any number of saints, holy, spiritfilled, obedient believers in Jesus Christ who don’t happen to belong to the Catholic church…..or, to any other church or assembly for that matter. Born again, saved and sanctified by the Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient to our salvation. Period.

      6. They are revered because they demonstrate the power of God over death & His promises to us as His spiritually adopted sons & daughters who partake of the Divine nature & share in His glory.

Jesus Himself demonstrated the power of God over death by His death on the Cross and subsequent resurrection from death” Trying to affirm that demonstration by any other means, such as revering alleged saints, does indeed border on idolatry…..as well as dishonoring Christ.

      7. The Scriptures affirm that those who abide in Christ are conformed to His image.

      8. The Scriptures state that those who eat His flesh & drink His blood have life in them – even eternal life because they eat the Living Bread that comes down from heaven (See John 6:25-69), & that they partake of the Divine Nature (2 Pe 1:4). Those shall also share in His glory (Ro 8:17).

Taking a scripture out of context such as this is allegory. Eating Jesus flesh and drinking His blood, other than being pure allegory amounts to primitive superstition and cannibalism, (not to mention the necessity of digesting Him and later defecating the contents which amounts to dishonoring the Son of God.) Surely, that can be clearly understood by most people.
The “Living Bread” is Jesus Word, that man cannot live by mere common bread but by every Word that proceeds out of His mouth.

      Jesus used much allegory in His teaching ministry….such as being a “door” for the sheep, or even the famous, “building His church upon this rock” which was twisted completely out of context, meaning only that He was building His ecclesia upon the revelation that Peter had uttered;

“But whom say ye that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus responded to Peter by saying, ‘Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The rock Jesus was referring to that He would build His church on was the revelation that “flesh and blood” had not revealed this truth to Peter, but rather, it came supernaturally from the Father in Heaven…this is the very essence of being “born again”. Without this piece of information and Truth, there is no salvation that any church, group, organization, can impart to man.

All of this is Scriptural & in keeping with the Teaching (Tradition).of the historical Church.

To say all of this you’ve posted is in keeping with the Teaching, (Tradition) of the historical Church is not true. To be in keeping with the Teaching of the original Historic church, (ecclesia), one would have to go back to Acts chapter 2, the church, (ecclesia) the Lord Jesus via the Holy Spirit began in the upper room when He empowered the 120 believers with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire….(which, by the way, He is still doing today). I am one of those recent disciples, still sitting at His feet, learning. And by the way, I make no excuses nor should I have to for the apostate condition of so called Protestantism. They will be judged, just as we all will. The Lord doesn’t allow me to partake of “church”…be it Protestant of Catholic, for the very reasons mentioned. “Church” didn’t save me, nor can it. He did, in a Sovereign act alone in my own home. Praise Him forever more.
I trust this will end this conversation, and be of help to those who come sincerely with an open desire for truth.

God bless you as you go, ashiraladonai

  2. The enemy hates the Creator so much, my sister, that he makes people who are made in the Creator’s image look like total fools. my

God bless you! May the Lord Jesus give you wisdom and strength to work in that particular field. Thank you for all your kindness, Scarlett! It encourages me a lot.

    • ashiraladonai says:

Then that would be in keeping with Scripture then, wouldn’t it…?

1 Corinthians 4 showed how the Apostles were regarded long ago, & St. Paul said this:

      1 Corinthians 3 NIV (BibleHub):

18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.
      19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness” a ;
20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” b 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas c or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,
23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

      And this:

      1 Corinthians 1 NIV (BibleHub):

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” c
20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
29 so that no one may boast before him.
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” d

      • Scarlett says:

No, I don’t believe parading body parts of so called Catholic “saints’, and statues of Mary through the streets is in keeping with scripture at all. Nor is misapplying the scriptures you referred to in keeping with the correct context….for even a Christ believing “fool” as myself can see that you have taken it those scriptures out of context. What was shown in the picture I posted was never practiced by any of the apostles or condoned by them anywhere in scripture. I do agree the scriptures are truth and can be clearly understood by the most humble, honest and sincere believer in Jesus Christ without the aid of so called expertly trained theologians. The Bible says, ” As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit-just as it has taught you, remain in him.” 1st John 2:27

  3. futuret says:

CATHOLICS MAY BE JUST THAT CATHOLIC, BUT THEY DEFINITELY CAN NOT SAY THAT THEY ARE CHRISTIAN, IT IS JUST ANOTHER FORM OF pagan and idol worship, skulls are another golden calves.

  4. Scarlett, it is like a cult of death. So sad and dark!

    • Scarlett says:

So sad and dark, and they love to have it so. They’ve been dismembering cadavers, and parading body parts for centuries, and worshiping them as idols. Kissing and bowing down to them. It is sick, morbid and unholy.

      • Scarlett says:

My dearest friend here where I moved is what I call a “generational Catholic”. She is of Mexican descent and very indoctrinated into the Catholic doctrines. In this part of the United States, the Southwest, many Catholics are very much into the “Guadalupe”…I could tell you two horror stories about this demon that would raise the hair on the back of your neck. In any case, speaking to her about this would immediately shut off all communication between us. I talk to her about Jesus and encourage her to read the bible, and of course I pray, pray, pray…..what more can I do? She seems to be drawn to me, and I know the Lord is using me somehow to reach her. She says she loves Jesus with all her heart, but then there is this thing about “the virgin Mary”…..It’s very frustrating.

      • Scarlett, I believe you are following the Lord’s leading and that He hears your prayers for her. 💟
