Are Some Cities More Evil Than Others?

Are some cites more evil than others? I think so, and so did Lester Sumrall. He should know, as he has traveled all over the world as a missionary and church planting Apostle, and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, not to mention, a modern day exorcist.

As for me, after having lived in 6 different cities in the last 20 yrs, I have noticed a variety of distinct evil characteristics in each city. The city I am living in now, Truth or Consequences, NM may be the most evil of them all. Why? My personal feeling, or, discernment if you will, is that this city has become a so-called “mecca” of “healing”, due to the Hot Springs here, called by the locals, “the healing waters”. Whether there is indeed any healing aspects to the waters I don’t know for sure. I don’t think it’s ever been proven one way or the other, but like a hot bath or shower, the hot waters do tend to relax people. In any case, a plethora of pseudo “healers” and various weirdos of all sorts seem to have set up shop here in the hot springs area, hung out their shingles and opened their doors, (and cash registers) to the gullible and spiritually naive public.  You have various “shaman” types, psychics, tarot card readers, massage therapists involved in various New Age modalities, (Be careful about those “bundle” deals offered at the hot springs houses of combination hour soaks plus massage. You may get more than you bargained for). Many of these “therapists” are involved in occult practices such as Reiki, which is very spiritually dangerous, in my opinion, and also verified by the Word of God. Reiki is not a Christian or godly practice.

Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.”Jeremiah 10:2

Here in TorC, as the locals call it, there is a very heavy Catholic and Mary worshiping influence due to the Hispanic population here, many of whom still speak only Spanish. The name of the local Catholic church, is “Our Lady of Perpetual Help”. Mary and Jesus statues are everywhere you go around town in people’s yards, fences, etc. Then there is the Native American religion, Mormon, and Buddhist elements as well.

All this said, can there be any doubt these evil occult practices have an oppressive effect on the city and the people in it? There seems to be a lot of drug related problems, as well as crime and poverty. This is reported to be the poorest county in New Mexico.

I can say without a doubt that I have felt- and had to deal with an extraordinary amount of  spiritual oppression since I moved here 2 years ago beginning from day one.  One next door neighbor claims to be a Mormon + Catholic combo. ?? Another is an alcoholic, and another is an amalgamation of several spiritual practices, such as Buddhism, New Age, Native American, Hinduism; you name it. She claims her deceased mother has been speaking audibly to her in her new apartment, her best friend is a clone, and extraterrestrials have been harvesting our DNA for the last 3,000 yrs. You say witness to her….I have, and apparently others have as well. She simply rejects it at this time.  Indeed, she has been rejecting the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior, much in the same way most Christians reject the reality of demon activity in people’s lives, or communities. How is that?.. since a good part of the Lord Jesus ministry was dealing with demonic entities?

The apostle Peter summed up Jesus entire ministry by saying, “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power and how He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the  devil for God was with Him” Acts 10:38

All said, Satan is alive and well in this community. I have battled sickness and various physical attacks since moving here practically on a daily basis. This has become more pronounced since this latest woman moved in next door. In the above video, Lester Sumrall discusses these things, and cautions people to be careful where they live because of these spiritual issues. I would say to that..it’s a wonderful idea, but easier said than done here in post modern America.  Christians….pray for revival in our cities. If that were my only purpose here in this desert and waste howling wilderness, it would be worth it to see a true revival catch fire.  Let’s not be satisfied with the status quo, no matter where we live.

In praise of spiritual dry spells

Lighting the Lamp

The ideas in this article were largely taken from other sites and forums, posted here as they may help encourage people who are going through similar dry spells in their spiritual reading and prayer life.

Here are some insights:

God created the physical seasons to illustrate the spiritual seasons a Christian will pass through in his or her life. Jesus talked a lot about seasons (Matthew 21:41; Luke 12:42; Luke 21:30; John 4:35; John 5:35).

Paul told Timothy to “be prepared in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2). A dry spell is a spiritual drought. You feel as if you are just going through the motions. God is the author of dry spells. He plans them, He creates them, He brings them. And He eventually removes them.

So what is going on during a dry spell? God is searching us…

Kick Satan out of Your Food Chain and Grow Some Organic Veggies

I’m all for no GMO and growing ones own food. You don’t have to own a “south 40” to be able to grow a variety of healthy organic foods. I live in an apt complex now, so my plantings are  required by management to be attractive and within limited space requirements.

I started with having my son build a container, (with no bottom, but lined with several inches of clean cardboard)….. approximately 2 ft. deep x 2 ft. high x 5 ft length with left over 3/4 inch plywood which I stained with an attractive color. I then attached a sturdy home made “rustic” wooden branch trellis to the back. I have since attached a couple of other rectangular containers in various sizes to the original which compliments the design. Then started filling the entire shebang with good quality organic garden soil such as Burpees, I get at Tractor Supply. I use only organic fertilizer such as Jobe’s.  Oh, and some garden worms; Red Wigglers I buy at the sporting goods section at Walmart. Their just fishing worms, but they work just fine. 🙂

In addition I have other large pots for container plantings which I arrange on my porch. This is where I grow mostly decorative culinary and medicinal herbs and flowers, so I have my own medicine chest European style, right at my front door. This is a valuable resource for me, one which I’ve also been able to encourage my neighbors to start their own little pocket gardens. My near neighbor said she was inspired by my garden, and started her own with a two bale straw bale garden, which she surrounded with a pallet “fence” arrangement to cover the straw, and then painted it with an attractive color. Our gardens are the talk of the neighborhood and get lots of complements.

Since this is basically a retirement complex, living color, flowers and actual live growing food, and being able to grow these wonderful healthy vegetables and herbs right at our doorstep is a blessing and excellent therapy for body and soul as well.

Here in the Southwest desert, the soil is simply not conducive for growing much of anything but cactus, but the way I make the desert climate work for me year round is by growing vertically.

Anyone can do this, even when living in urban areas or places where space is limited. Just think in terms of vertical and raised beds.  It’s not expensive, ( lots cheaper than store bought organic), and lots fresher as well.  I actually grow all the vegetables I want or need in my garden. All I have to buy extra are things such as squash, potatoes, eggplant, artichoke….plants that would grow too large to fit in my area.
It’s now the middle of May here in the Southwest desert. Here is a partial list of some of the things I have growing at this time. I am harvesting snow peas which were planted in March. These will be cut down when the weather gets too warm, not long from now, and will be replaced by my Sun Gold cherry tomatoes which will climb all over the trellis. I have three other tomato plants, in 2 of the largest containers, which I prune so they will grow more vertically and save space for the shorter veggies growing intensively, (close together) near them, such as basil, green onions, spinach, lettuce, bell peppers. Some of these veggies will have to be rotated out as it gets hotter, and room made for the ones that will grow larger. The various beautiful greens such as the chard, kale and collards surprisingly keep on growing all summer long and even into the fall and winter here.
Obviously, I don’t have room to plant rows and rows of veggies the way I used to when I had the room on the “old home place”, but the idea is to plant a large variety of what I want, not just so much of everything. For example, I have a small consecutive planting of bush green beans which I keep replanting all summer long….they mature every 45 days so it’s easy to keep a supply going that’s enough for my table.
I’ve selected and planted a bush cucumber which I will prune to keep it within limits. Since cucumbers produce plenty of cucumbers all season long, this will be more than enough for my needs. This fall I will be replacing all the summer veggies with cold hardy plants in my endeavor to have a  four season garden. I am blessed!
The list goes on….I would like to encourage folks to try this, if you’re not already. We’re living in an hour where we may actually need to have access to food we’ve grown ourselves. Many of us have simply grown too dependent on running to the grocery store for everything. Our ancestors knew nothing of such a lifestyle…..and they were the ones who made it through famines and the Great Depression without having to stand in food lines at the soup kitchens. The other thing about growing your own is being able to thumb your nose at the devil and Monsanto. I do believe he has stock in that company. In any case, I cringe when I hear the the M word, and avoid it at all costs.

WHEN A PROPHETS WORD FAILS TO COME TO PASS – AND WHY IT MATTERS

thepropheticnews

Jonathan-Cahn

If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. “But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt…

THE MARK OF THE BEAST: SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

“And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead,” Revelation 13:16

Not long ago, I was approached by a man who stated that he and his wife were going to cease using their bank cards, debit cards and credit cards – including their social security cards. The reason? They believed that to do so was taking the ‘mark’ of the antichrist. The problem, as I tried to explain to the man’s error, was not that their thought was necessarily wrong, for a day is coming where there most certainly will be a genuine mark placed upon every human being in the distant future, the problem with his belief was it was misplaced. He and his wife were wrong in their estimation of what…

Is it a “Dark Night of the Soul”? No, This is Only a Test……….

03d98b2ee38a19fe56eab90cc8110879

Is what you’re going through really a form of depression…or even the fabled “Dark Night of the Soul”…?? No, it’s just a test. God does that, you know. It’s easy to feel the Lord’s Presence when we’re up on the mountain, on a spiritual high, when He’s drawing close to us. But, it’s down in the valley of separation, in the awful darkness, when we don’t seem to be hearing from the Lord and can’t sense His nearness…..only the silent loneliness of our own heart beating——— that we may feel abandoned.

Trust………..

This is what our Lord is looking for, no matter what is going on in our life, no matter what pressures and fiery trials, or the terrible dryness we sometimes feel in our soul, He is looking for our unshakable trust in Him to bring us through on the other side of Jordan. Our complete and utter TRUST in Him.

As we continue on to seek to know the Lord in a greater measure, we must learn to walk alone…even when there is not even a breath; a whisper of His Presence. It is a requirement for our spiritual maturity and growth. It doesn’t mean that we’ve done something wrong, or the Lord has abandoned us……….(He said He would never forsake us), and he won’t. It’s just that we must learn to go through seasons of dryness, seemingly…and trusting Him, just know that He is testing our mettle and strengthening our spiritual fiber.

That’s what it’s all about. If this is what you’ve been feeling….what you’ve been going through, and wondering if or when it would ever end? Stop! Stop beating yourself up, fretting, trying to push the door open again. Just trust and believe that He will do that Himself, in His time and His way….remember, one of the most often repeated phrases in the scriptures, is, “And it came to pass”. And so it will. Just as other trials come and go, and we rejoice when they do! But we know with each experience, we are stronger and….our Trust has grown, and He is still there.

Once we learn this, it will be easier if there should be a next time. Just trust….

NON-CONFORMITY

Tribulation Saint

4.2.7 Pieter Claesz: A Vanitas Still Life, 1645

When a person becomes a genuine believer in Jesus Christ he is a changed person – he has a new relationship with God, a new outlook on life, a new set of values and new motives.  He has spiritual life.  But he must still live in the fallen human society from which he came, and that puts him in an awkward position.  He lives and works with the people he knows, but can no longer conform to their standards of behavior.

Much of the second half of Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians is taken up with this problem.  “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind. . .” (Eph. 4:17; NKJV).  “Walk” is the biblical word for how one conducts his…

Greetings,

”I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.  It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.  God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.  And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may…
