The Sheep are Feeding the Shepherd

I can’t find any place in the New Testament where pastors were paid a salary. It may have been that some evangelists were supported by the people since they couldn’t hold down full time regular jobs, but there was never any mention in the scriptures of a tithing system expected of the early Christians to pay money, or salaries to any of the apostles, prophets, teachers or pastors. So, the question is…who gave these modern day pastors the right to collect tithes for themselves, and live as wealthy, and in such luxury as the king of a small country, buying…. and flying around the world in private jets, and living in huge lavish mansions at the sheep’s aka laity’s expense? But these spiritually obese “pastors” expect to be well fed, as it has become the accepted model in today’s upside down apostate church.

Some things have never changed since Ezekiel’s time.

3And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say unto them, ‘Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds: Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe yourselves with the wool, ye kill the ones that are fed; but ye feed not the flock.

The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.Ezekiel 34:2-4

The current pastoral system in place today is a result of the emperor Constantine. His model is still followed today.

Amen Tony. Unfortunately this is true to the churches shame.

Im curious Scarlett. How did you find my blog and what prompted you to follow it?

      • Scarlett says:

I don’t actually know how I found it Tony, but the truth is that I have been hungry for more real fellowship with spirit filled saints. I should explain that although there is much truth being posted, there is just something missing. There is much talk on these readers about loving one another in Christ, but there is no one to talk to and love in real time. I am personally hurting and need someone to talk to…not in a public venue, but I am lost in a sea of WordPress blogs. It’s probably my fault.
I decided to follow your blog because your posts seemed so personally in tune with the Holy Spirit, and touched my heart and spirit.

I pray that you are blessed. My wife and I are in the same situation as you. Staring at the backs of people’s heads, clapping your hands to some carefully selected songs, and listening to a lecture on a Sunday morning in a building called church isn’t church. It’s more like entertainment.

      • Scarlett says:

Well, not quite the same Tony. The Lord pulled me out of these churches years ago, As the Lord Jesus told another brother in the same dilemma, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”
Still, it’s been a very lonely walk out here in the wilderness. I am a single woman. You are very blessed to have a wife and someone to walk the Christian road with.
The early church met in homes and broke bread and fellowshipped together. I have to believe this was the best way to worship and come together in a spiritfilled way to minister to one another, according to the Word of God.

We are in Arizona. Where do you live?

      • Scarlett says:

I live in Truth or Consequences, NM…There IS something about a name, eh? From what I have seen since moving here…there is mostly consequences,….. as a result of the occult, new age, native american religion, Catholicism, atheism, drug addiction, crime ……fill in the blanks. The town is dying, yet lives. (sort of).

      • Tony says:

It is odd that that you mention seeking the living among the dead

Here is a vision the Lord gave me 3 years ago.

Here is a dream that I had a few years back.

We left the traditional church in 2009. Yes it has been a lonely road. Even though My wife and I have each other, it is still a lonely road. It seems that the Lord is getting the “church”, if you will, out of us. It is a process that is difficult. Not many want to follow the road because it is a lonely one. Everyone walks to the cross alone.

Both of these dreams bear witness to my spirit of being from the Holy Spirit of the Lord.

I am reblogging “The Ministry Wagon”. It sounds just like so many money driven churches, and very much like the one the Lord Jesus brought me out of, wounded, battered and bruised but He has been faithful to dress my wounds and pour in the oil and the wine. As Our Good Shepherd. He never fails them who love and serve Him.
Tony, I am one who is not afraid to post a vision or dream, as opposed to those who are scared out of their wits by anything touching the supernatural. If God be God, and He is, then He is indeed the God of the supernatural spirit realm. It would behoove us all to walk there with Him as a foretaste of the glory to come, and for our own spiritual growth and maturity.

        Amen Scarlett

  2. Thanks for the “like.” Follow my blog, I think you’ll get something out of it. I’ll be following yours. Best wishes as you seek the Kingdom of God. Keep your eyes on him and “above all, be fervent in your love for one-another, because love covers a multitude of sins.”

It’s because His people (that is, those who call themselves by My Name) LOVE IT SO!!
    Jeremiah agrees!

    Jeremiah 5
…30″An appalling and horrible thing Has happened in the land: 31The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it?

    Jeremiah 6
13″For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely. 14″They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace. 15″Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; They did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time that I punish them, They shall be cast down,” says the LORD.…

    Jeremiah 8
Because from the least even to the greatest Everyone is greedy for gain; From the prophet even to the priest Everyone practices deceit. 11″They heal the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.…
