Does Your Heart Burn Within You for More of Jesus?

worshipping-woman

There are those of us who will not, cannot be, satisfied with the status quo of a dead religious form, and are being prompted by the Spirit to seek a deeper walk with Jesus, to know Him in a greater measure, and to know the Power of His resurrection. To truly be seated with Him in heavenly places, and to make that a living reality rather than something we quote from scripture merely presuming that we have attained that measure of intimacy with our LORD. To abandon all else, no matter what the cost, and indeed, there will be the cost of dying to self and will, and the clamor of the world.

“They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” Luke 24:32

Does your heart burn within for more of Jesus, as mine does? Consider these words of wisdom.

Many Will Be Offended

Beautiful, Cheryl. There is nothing I could possibly add to this thought ;provoking and touching post. Jesus bless you for standing for the love of the Truth.

Bread for the Bride

Visibly angry, the man with the long dark beard backed away from me as if to avoid catching a dreaded disease.  “Get away from me!  You are an offence to me!” he sputtered hatefully, eyes flashing with rage, face heavy with indignation.  Beside him his approving wife glared at me in agreement, while their two little children looked on, open mouthed with astonishment.    A minute later the deeply offended husband and wife were bustling their two little ones out through the store’s automatic front doors like someone had just announced an outbreak of the black plague.

The setting was a large, well known Christian book store in Brisbane, Australia. I hadn’t entered the book store that Saturday morning looking to offend anyone, honestly. With my husband absorbed in a nearby hobby shop, I had wandered in just to kill some time.  As usual, the store was bustling with shoppers browsing…

Married men: your porn habit is an adultery habit

The Matt Walsh Blog

I know a guy who cheats on his wife. He cheats on her every day. He cheats on her multiple times a day. He’s a husband and a father and a serial adulterer.

I shouldn’t know this fact about him, but it came up in conversation a few days ago. We were talking about the divorce rate; both of us gave our theories as to why the statistics are so high. I mentioned in my diagnosis a few studies that show pornography to be a root cause in over 50 percent of divorces annually.

He laughed. “People don’t get divorced over porn.” He went on to explain that porn isn’t a “big deal” to most people. It’s not “like it’s cheating or something.” He told me that he looks at it multiple times daily. His wife, he insisted, might be a little peeved if she knew the extent of…

Charles Stanley..Saved as by Fire?

As a dedicated Once Saved Always Saved, “Eternal Security” false teacher, of the Southern Baptist variety of false teachers of false doctrines and lies, I wonder how many “rewards” he will loose as he tries to force his way into the Marriage Supper of the LAMB? Or, will he be told to depart, that workers of iniquity, false teachers of doctrines of demons, will not be welcomed in and embraced?

Long ago, as a new spirit filled believer, I watched on TV as Charles Stanley tried to explain the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. He appeared to be confused, and as if he didn’t really understand what he was attempting to explain. This is not surprising since Baptists believe that “you get all the Holy Spirit you’re ever going to get when you get saved”. And this is exactly what he was saying, as he muddled on. Unfortunately, this is a terrible misconception and misapplication of what the scriptures actually say.

You see, Baptists seem to have their own play book when teaching doctrine. They generally believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are “not for today”, that someway or another, they were left behind when Jesus ascended, and the Apostles were martyred. In order to do this, they have to deny what’s in the plain text of scripture.

Why do they do this? Personally, I feel it’s because they DON’T HAVE the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and so somehow have to explain away or excuse the embarrassing FACT, that they don’t have the gifts of the Spirit operational in their own lives due to having listened to and believed the false “man made doctrines and traditions of men that make the Word of God ineffectual”.

It is indeed a crying shame that man can’t seem to take God at His Word and simply believe and trust in what the scriptures say, and apply them to their own lives without rearranging, negating, removing, folding, spindling or mutilating the Word of God instead of adhering to some dead, denominational “form” of religion.

A PERSONAL OPINION ON WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE DOCTRINES OF ARMSTRONGISM

Armstrongism and it’s doctrines have all the earmarks of a cult. And as such is guilty of spiritually abusing the very precious ones Jesus wanted to set free.
By placing himself, Herbert Armstrong, ahead of Jesus Christ as head of the Church, the Body of Christ, Armstrong made himself guilty of the thing Jesus said He hated in the Book of Revelation, and that is- “The Doctrine and Deeds of the Nicolaitans”, just have all other mainstream organized “churches” and cults who follow this insidious practice.
When a church deviates from placing Jesus as it’s center, it has already departed from the Faith. This is what Satan has always tried to do in one way or another, to either displace Jesus, or negate Him entirely.
It’s tragically unfortunate that any person has gotten involved in such a cult, but sometimes we go through trials, even such as this, to later come out and bring with us a testimony for Jesus….and a warning for others to learn from! The bible says, “All things work to the good for those that love and serve God”…so that means even such an unfortunate experience as being caught up in a deceptive spiritually abusive cult as Armstrongism, God can turn into a blessing in the end….because He IS A NOW GOD, the same yesterday, today and forever, and by His mighty SPIRITUAL POWER, He is well able to save, heal and deliver…spiritually from any and all wounds of the past. Praise His Name Forever!
