The Bible speaks of a time at the end of the age when gross darkness will cover the land. That there will be a famine for the Word of God. Not a time of a great awakening for mankind but rather, a time when all creation groans waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. A time not of a massive “revival” to reawaken the people of God but rather a time of apostasy, (falling away). Even in this hour, we are seeing great delusion sweep through the world, and many in the church being swept along in this overflowing scourge of darkness and delusion.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;2nd Thessalonians 2:3

From Herescope. A powerful new article on the command to separation from God to His church.
http://herescope.blogspot.com/
“Separation is God’s prescription for treating the disease of apostasy. It is not ours to repudiate, for it is a divine command, not a human idea.”
“The biblical doctrine of separation is founded upon a verse that appears in both the Old and New Testaments: Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord. (2 Cor. 6:14; Is. 52:11)”
Instead of separation in these perilous times, we’ve seen the church adopting more of the ways of the world, and into a more ecumenical of a multitude of Starbucks, coffee drinking seeker friendly, “come as you are, stay as you are” worldly conformists, where “tolerance” and “acceptance” passes for, and overshadows the command to separate from the world. And the church as a whole is embracing this false doctrine.
I hear what you’re saying….The key to that verse is, “touch not the unclean thing”. We are to be in the world but not of the world. There is a fine line that calls for much discernment as well as maintaining a high level of spiritual integrity. If we allow associations, or relationships to cause us to compromise, then we have already gone over the line. That’s where most of the church is right now. The world has come into the “church” to the point that it’s no longer the CHURCH, but has become the unclean thing itself. .
