Did the young Jewish woman Mary remain a virgin AFTER Jesus Christ was born into this world? The answer is absolutely NO! In fact Mary gave birth to several other children AFTER the birth of Jesus! Mary and Joseph had a natural marital sexual relationship, AFTER the birth of Jesus Christ into this world. Read the Bible for yourself!
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And KNEW HER NOT TILL she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. (Matthew 1:22-25)
Reading this may upset some folks who’ve been taught that the “Virgin Mary” so-called, the mother of Jesus, remained a virgin until the end of her life. But, this doesn’t line up with what the scriptures have to say about it. This is where we need to go to get the truth and keep from being deceived. I was checking out some scripture in Mark ch.6 today, where it speaks of folks in Jesus country, or hometown, who knew him, and had probably known him as he grew up. They knew he was trained as a carpenter, (this was before he began his ministry), and they knew his mother and his brothers and sisters.
6 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. Mark 6
More proofs!
It seems many folks will try to shove a round peg into a square hole, in an attempt to force it into their own belief system. For example, on YouTube, one Catholic guy claimed he had a “special grace” that “proved” that Jesus didn’t have any siblings. His “reasoning” consisted of the fact that Jesus had the Apostle John care for Mary, and that it would naturally follow if Jesus had brothers, (siblings), then of course they would have taken Mary into their home. Well, sorry, but that isn’t “proof”. It’s just carnal reasoning, or as the Word says, “leaning to ones own understanding”. The following is a more logical scenario; as we can see, Jesus brothers in the natural were not believers, they were scornful of him and possibly envious. Mary on the other hand, was not only the mother of Jesus but a devout believer and follower as well. Why would Jesus designate unbelieving, scornful jealous brothers to take care of his precious mother? Also, there is no record of his sibling brothers present at Jesus crucifixion.
7 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want[a] to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. 2 But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, 3 Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. 4 No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” 5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him. John 7 (This text is in all English versions)
6 Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. 8 You go to the festival. I am not[b] going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.” 9 After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee.
10 However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. 11 Now at the festival the Jewish leaders were watching for Jesus and asking, “Where is he?”
It says what it says! No matter what “tradition” had to say about it. “Tradition” had to be based on something, but it didn’t precede the actual happenings of the miraculous birth of Jesus. “Tradition” wasn’t there, present, at the birth of the Christ child. No, the original scriptures are what counts. The scripture, the LOGOS, the written Word of God trumps tradition, no matter what you’ve been told or taught. Can you see how it changes EVERYTHING to know the Truth about just these crucial verses!! If they’d lie to you about this, then what else would they lie about? Good question, huh?
Folks, you don’t have to be a bible scholar, a member of the “clergy class”, a “theologian”, etc. God has given you a mind to comprehend and use, rather than taking a man, or even a multitude of men’s say so about it. You can read the scriptures for yourself and understand the essence, the “gist” of it just fine, if you will just do it. Jesus said so, if YOU will do it, not someone else trying to do it for you. They might get it wrong, or….it may be that someone deceived them, or….it could be Satan at work again, trying to deceive everyone, as he has from the beginning, and we KNOW he has an agenda. Read and continue in Jesus Word, the Bible, as he has said;
“Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. “John 8: 31-32
Again! Mary had other children! At least 7 including Jesus, according to the above scripture, the inspired Word of God! It is an abomination to God to add to, or take away from the scriptures, which men have done in this and many other instances. Do not be part of this any longer. We must get into the Word of God ourselves, or we aren’t going to be able to stand in the evil day, and we will be deceived.
