And Jesus asked them, Whom are you seeking?” This was a powerful question coming from the mouth of Jesus, (and I don’t believe he ever wasted words). Jesus knew they were seeking the man, Jesus of Nazareth, but they knew not they’d been sent by the spiritually blinded Pharisees to arrest the Son of God.
Whom are you seeking? When you came to this page , you were apparently seeking information or news updates about Tom White, the US director of Voice of the Martyrs, and perhaps trying to make sense of the mind boggling scandal that ensued as a result of his suicide and sexual molestation charges.
As tragic as all that is, perhaps there is something much more serious and deeper that we should be seeking in this dark hour we live in. Have we lost focus on what it means to be repentant seekers and finders of Jesus…. I mean really seeking him– with all our hearts, minds, and strength?
Does this present day religious system bear any resemblance to the model of the early church Jesus Himself set up? Frankly, no, it does not. The truth is, the present organized religious system is in apostasy. The church needs to repent and turn back to Jesus and obeying His commandments as laid out in the gospel.
Tom White was just a man. Whom should we be seeking?
Voice of the Martyrs is a man-made organization. Whom should we be seeking?
Jesus and the pure Gospel……only~
What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and his Gospel?
To seek Jesus and His Gospel, and Him and His Gospel only~
No substitutes, no counterfeits, and no excuses~
Nothing added to or taken away…and yet, may I suggest that we’ve done just that, and it’s an abomination in God’s eyes.
18 When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. 2 And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. 3 Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. 4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”
5 They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. 6 Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?”
And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
8 Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,” 9 that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.” John 18
